"...And just yards away, they were lurking in their blue Chevy, watching every move in the fiasco. The car was even caught in the background on news footage—and still the jigsaw did not piece together."

Chief Moose and the Caprice-ignoring keystone kops strike again

CNN actually reported this Malvo escape attempt about 8 hours ago, but didn't make a big deal out of it. Not sure why.

and in most other countries, he probably would have been shot dead trying to escape...

But Chief Charles Moose refused to reveal the number plate.

That little beauty of police work got swept under the rug because of pure luck and a hungry press. Now he's a hero. The jerk.

Doesn't the FBI normally put dangerous criminals in secure holding cells?

Evidently not. Another sign of gross incompetence.

Chief Charles Moose refused to reveal the number plate. It was only when one of his team leaked it that the pair were found one-and-a-half hours later.

It would seem someone woke up, smelled the coffee, and decided the guys in the Caprice were the perps, but that person wasn't Chief Moose. He was PC to the very end.

He sure has looked unhappy since they were caught.

I wonder how long they had the plate number before the leak, and the reason for witholding it.

During a spot-check on October 8, he was parked and asleep at the wheel. But cops failed to look in the boot, where they would have found the Bushmaster XM15 rifle.

The cops couldn't have checked the boot. There was no probable cause. Of course they could have searched the car any of the ten times but with the charge of Racial profiling or unlawful search hanging over their heads like a big iron fist I can see why they didn't. PC is going to be the death of this country if it isn't stopped..

Would this be called infirmative action? God bless the brave soul that released the plate number.

Looks like the Moose has some explaining to do. The Wash Post had a front page article today about the 10 times these guys were stopped and license plates run through the system. BTW, let me ask a dumb question....was is a boot (in the car)?

I heard one channel say they got the BOLO off their poelice scanners.

Does anyone know if either of the perps were ever Catholic? What is the predominant religion in Jamaica? I'm still leaning toward Malvo as the shooter...even in Ala. I think the cop there would have shot Muhammad if he had a hand gun in the foot pursuit. Malvo was across the ditch from the shooting and could have used a long gun from there. (man I have to get a life)

Why wasn't this perp handcuffed? Kind of tough to climb on a table and haul yourself up through the ceiling with your hands cuffed behind your back. Hopefully they put a chain on this perp, just to make sure he doesn't get too far next time he tries something like this.
