... could these Iraqis calling for Saddam's death be the reason why this was pushed back so late? Its certainly plausible. I think broadcast journalists have to receive a series of political correctness injections before they can work in the field.

It must have been fate, but I have to agree that it is a much more powerfull plea, comming from the victims.
This has been the entire problem selling this stance with Iraq. We, the Americans, have not been victims in a true sense and cannot coherently make a case.
These folks can. It is the missing piece of the argument.
