Charges Dropped Against Imam Al-Husainy

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) in Michigan is pleased to announce that the case of Imam Husham Al-Husainy has been resolved. According to Imam Al-Husainy’s legal representatives, a meeting took place on Monday, July 15, 2002 between the City of Dearborn’s Legal Department and Imam Al-Husainy and his legal representatives. During this meeting, the City agreed to drop all charges brought against the Imam, bringing this case to a close. Imam Al-Husainy, a local Islamic clergyman, along with two other community members, were singled out and unfairly charged with Protesting Without a Permit, as a result of their participation in a pro-peace Palestinian Rally on April 14, 2002 in the City of Dearborn. Imam Al-Husainy’s case was completely and unconditionally dismissed, and the City waived the restitution fees of both Mr. Chammout and Mr. Bijayih. Mr. Chammout and Mr. Bijayih paid $500 in fines and were placed under advisement for nine months.

Do not hijack threads to continue disputes from other threads.

Who "Hijacked" a thread? I pinged a few people with proof that they are wrong about Muslims. I drew their attention to said proof within a specific post on one thread.

Oh, yeah. I'll do you one better. I talked to his lovely son for a while. His son, I'd say about age 8 or so, maybe younger, has been told all sorts of things.

All of which we'd agree with. Except this one: "Iraq has to be free, just like Lebannon became free from Israel. Did you know: Israel is a bad country?" Said with absolute sweet innocence. Sigh.

Gore_War_Vet, there's no doubt that on a rally concerning Palestinian politics, they'd be on the other side. But they agree with us that the anti-war protestors are wrong on this one. Their presence doesn't mean we agree with them on everything. Even before you post, I would kinda be assuming that these guys were pro-Palestinian. (Frankly, I think all people of substance are pro-Palestinian in the sense of wanting the bloodshed to stop -- we'd just disagree with them on whether having terrorists in charge of the West Bank and killing innocent Israelis is going to achieve that goal.)

mdale is a she? Could she be the infamous Elenoar Mondale?

Seriously, you are correct. Some people think they can sit down and have a chit-chat with a blood-thirsty madman and he'll just have a change of heart.

You have not said that, and I appologize for including you with people who have.

I am sorry.

Thank you. Apology accepted. I would appreciate it if you didn't call my wife skippy anymore either.

Now that we've settled that how 'bout answering my question? What connection does T. McVeigh have to militia's other than attending one meeting of the Michigan Militia and being asked to leave?

"Put the FR URL prominently on or behind the dais, in clear continuous view of the camera. Maybe make up some gimme caps or stickers with the URL on them too; enough to hand out to participants and interested passersby"

Great idea. Great idea for fundraising, too. In FACT, if any enterprising FReeper wants to get some caps printed up, I want to reserve one now...

Thank you all SOOOOO much for this live thread. After not sleeping nearly all week, I had to decide to go to bed early LAST NIGHT of all nights!! ARRGH! If it weren't for this great thread, including screen shots and highlights of speeches, I'd REALLY regret not having watched (or at least listened) to it live on C-Span.

Live thrads are the next best thing to being there!

"We start out slow and small, but boy was it a heckuva show."

It sure was! You really lucked out finding those people from Iraq and getting them to agree to speak on stage. They were very effective advocates/spokesmen for America's goal of liberating their people. I videotaped the whole thing.

Kudos to the D.C. Chapter for another GREAT rally!!

EAGLE'S UP! BTTT

I'm going to call the same outfit that does the gimme caps for our VFW post on Monday and get a price quote on say a thousand ballcaps and that many bumper stickers. I'll start a new thread with what I find out.

I'm also checking on silk-screening some clear plastic Baggies for use at Freeps where we put donated soap, shampoo, etc. in them to give to the "smelly, unwashed" protestors. Maybe silk-screen the same art on them that is on some MREs that get handed out as humanitarian rations; "A gift from the people of the United States of America."

Correction - those are 1-gallon, resealable Ziplocs.

"It should be added that many sincere and pious Muslims, whose traditions or convictions are incompatable with the violent, murderous, nihilistic, puritanical, fanatical, utopian and fascistic hyper-particularism of the islamists, are most definitely classified by the fanatics as non-Muslims, and are slated for destruction."

Absolutely, and it needs to be repeated. One reason why we don't hear more Muslims speaking out against terrorism is that they themselves will become targets of the terrorists.

"If moderate Muslims do not join our fight against America and Britain, then it is our duty to kill them too"
- Zahir, a British-born Muslim, addressing a packed meeting in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. (England)

Your stories are so similiar to mine. The attempted theft of the 2000 election filled me with such rage and anger and despair that I just needed to DO SOMETHING - something constructive. That is when I found Free Republic - and realized that I wasn't alone. Oh, how I thanked God for Free Republic. I NEVER posted, just read and read, and smiled and cheered you on.

I found the other (very few) Philadelphians who were just as outraged as I was. I went to my first FReep in Philadelphia. I too, sneaked my Bush/Cheyney campaign lawn sign into my mini-van and drove into Philly. After parking, I clutched this sign close to my body, so as not to attract too much attention. Philly, you must know, is a huge democRAT machine city. There were, maybe 10 of us protesting. We did recieve a lot of positive horn-honking, which suprised me. Hey, they're just like me, I thought. There are people in this city who realize what is happening. I'm here for them too. I became emboldened with this show of good faith. I raised my sign higher and waved it back and forth. I was occasionally taken aback by the vulgar, physically impossible suggestions from a few passers-by. I specifically remember one woman who was FReeping with us. She literally hid behind her sign the entire time, as she worked for the city of Phila., and was really afraid she would be recognized if caught on the few TV cameras that were there.

My family were somewhat stunned at this "take it to the streets" display. I felt positively rejuvenated - hours of therapy couldn't have produced this effect. I spread the word. A cousin in DC participated in the DC FReeps at VP Cheyney's house. My sister in San Francisco participated in a FReep there. She was one of the "Gucci Goons", so labeled by the lefties. She was thrilled. And I, finally, went to DC to participate, with another sister, in 2 FReeps with the DC Chapter. It still seems a somewhat out-of-body experience for me.

Thank you Jim Robinson, Kristinn, and all the other DOERS on Free Republic, who give so much of their time and their hearts. You all have rekindled that fire that was burning all the time - we just didn't know what to do with it - except pop a few more Pepcid. I truly feel that, never again, will we sit idly by and watch another election be stolen right out from under us. We will never again sit idly by and allow the lies to go unchallenged. We will never again just sit idly by....

If I remember correctly, just to simply point out an obsurd comment WITH an absurd comment.

Who is Jimmy Valentine?

Jimmy Valentine is my brother. If you do a google.com search on his name, you will find the OHenry story.

I am his half-wit older brother Johnny. Fox News or I was confused as to my name.

Known as a media whore amongst the DC Chapter members, I am aware that the TV crews always go for the idiots who paint themselves up.

P.S. Doctor Raoul taught me everthing and he is my idol.

That would work too; Sludgeweiser or Michelob for smaller hammers, JD and Coke for the larger ones ;)

I'm PO'd that C-SPAN chose to replay the rent-a-mob rally in prime time (twice) rather than show this rally first.

They ran it three times.

I had a really bad feeling that this was going to be the case.

Ridding the world of Saddam, the terrorists he backs and freeing the people of Iraq of dictatorship, helping them get on the right track to honestly governing themselves is something I know not only the good people of the USA would like but also that GOD would like to see. I fear that once Saddam and his ilk are gone the Muslim religion will once again be preaching that they must hate and rid the world of infidels.

We are sort of damned if we do and damned if we don't. Hopefully we can also educated the followers of the Muslim religion that infidels believe in and worship the same GOD that they do, they just do it differently.
