Shameless plugging now: I just wrote a little blog post on the different rallies/protests. Pardon the profanity, I guess I don't take people infringing on others' First Amendment rights too kindly. It must just be a weird quirk of mine.
Sauropod, waas it you that had the copy of the flyer from the lefties Saturday, that spelled out they would PAY people to show up for their next commie rally?

Two college-aged deadbeats came up with an American flag turned upside down and a note tied to it that said, "Bush is a War Criminal!!" and they tried to block Sauropod's camera view of the stage. I kindly asked them to vacate the premises and they told me they had a Right to Be Heard!! So I gently explained that they most certainly did not have a right to be heard on our Protest Permit and it would be most preferable were they to make like a tree and LEAVE!!
At that point, Ms. Takoma came flying off the upper turnbuckle and laid out the LeftyChick with a Monster Supplex/AmericanFlagGrab and the dude sorta pushed/punched the always-gentle Ms. Takoma at which point I sorta laid into him...LOL!! Then the cops came and arrested him, high-fived me, and kristinn explained that WE ARE RIGHT!! and the Lefties are WRONG!!

We did salute the flag...luckily, kristinn backed off on making me sing the National Anthem...last thing FReepers need is a Roseanne Barr incident...LOL!! But I never heard a single "faggot joke" the whole time I was there and that includes Sauropod and his CatholicSkewlGirlOutfit.

Gee thanks, Mud, about the "who started the fight" thing. I didn't do nothin'. I told the girl who was shouting and carrying an upside down flag in front of the stage that she needed to leave because she was disrupting a permitted rally and was trespassing. The next thing I know, some lefty guy came around from behind, gets ahold of the girl's flag and I ended up entangled in it between them, and then others (don't know from which side they were) started scuffling.
I was just along for the ride at that point, as my arm was attached to my shoulder as well as wound up in the flag. I wanted to keep the arm, so I took the ride until it tossed me off, which was after the cops entered the melee.
It was pretty interesting after it was all over, to recount in my mind what had just happened. By my recollection, the cops seemed to grab one person at a time and toss him (or her) out of the clump of bodies until they were down to three of us.
I think they then got the guy out (at which point my arm was free) first and took him away, then I kind of got spit out of the clump and then the girl had the undivided attention of the rest of the cops. If I remember accurately, she was fighting the cops the whole time and yelling at them.
I remember seeing some FReeper faces flying by as I was spun around this way and that before the cops came in, but I can't remember just whose faces I saw. After it was all over, I took inventory of my body parts, etc. I ended up with a couple of very small bruises and my hair got mussed up a bit, but the camera made it out okay and I didn't lose my earrings or my FReeper jacket. I'll say it again, you big troublemaker. I didn't start nothin'. :-)
It's been done ad infinitum...both surreptitiously and openly, and it can be funny every once in awhile. The Smirking Chimp is another one and they actually sent over a relatively mild-mannered gentleman who took the screen name "dwbh" and we used to get in some pretty decent rows, but he eventually lost his cool and then his posting privileges. If he's still out there, I'd like to offer my Congrats on Emmitt's feat today, although I still don't believe he's The Best RB EVER!!
