I was considering the details that differentiate this crime from others. Particularly the motivation, technique and other details. He wasn't going around killing at random, in public from far away and then leaving. Manson targeted victims in his camp and hollywood folks. These killers were pure terrorists, although they were to stupid to know what they were terrorizing for and to lazy and cheap to join the regulars. They were just killing Americans, like the jihadists on 911. It's their use of the rifle which no one has used in this way on the American public. The mansons hacked up most of their victims I think, it was a cult thing and all they had was a 22 pistol. These maggots really gave the grabbers something great to run with. Their stories scare the sheep, but these maggots gave the sheep a real scare.

Manson targeted like the son of Sam, the unibomber, or ted bundy, they all picked their victims for certain goofy, but limited reasons. They terrorized, but the folks they terrorized were a small group. Even robbers fit here.

gub....

Old sinkspur is all in a bind cause he was so disappointed the perp was not a white redneck. I bet he cried when Moose finally had to say those dreaded words "black man". Old sink prolly went into a lot of his usual whining, weeping and gnashing of teeth. He gets tiresome after awhile. He only comments on things he "KNOWS" about. What a laff.

The Zebra killers in San Francisco back in the 70s were black muslims. They went around killing half-a-dozen or so whites at random. In retrospect, those killings were very similar to these.

Additionally, there is nothing wrong with using data from other countries where available.

. . . half-a-dozen or so whites . . .

OMG, was I ever off! Check this out. Sad that I forgot how bad the carnage was, because I was living in SF at the time and was well aware of the fear that permeated the place. Those killings prompted me to buy my first gun after I got out of the Army.

Actually that's not entirely true. The La Bianca's were totally randon and they were brutally murdered. And once, at a stop light late at night, Charlie got out to shoot the driver in front of him, but lucky for the driver of that car, the light changed just before Charlie got to his window.......But your right, they are not exactly the same, but all are what I consider to be ruthless, murderers, with no conscience.

Highly trained terrorist, these two snipers were not! Not by any stretch of the imagination. I consider them more along the lines of wackjobs.

If the priest and later the cops were told of the murder in Alabama by the sniper and they had the fingerprint off the magazine to identify the guy, why didn't they use the fingerprint before to catch the guy for the single murder?

The excuse I have heard given for that is that the INS were the ones with the fingerprint, and that INS fingerprints don't come up on the national database for some reason. This doesn't make any sense to me,but this is what was said.

The Chief Moose and his Moosemen refused to consider mooselims in their data.

I can hear Johnny Cockroach now: "Forget the Moose, and set him loose."

How many other license plate numbers were also recorded six times, or even seven?

And how many of THOSE had out of state plates,a big hole drilled in the trunk lid,and a missing back seat?

without triggering the invasive vehicle searches that were going on for all white males driving white vans.

Since the odds are that at least a couple of these white vans may have had a bit of marijauna in them, the drug warriors here on FR will justify these stops, and be overjoyed about the assets confiscated.

Can you believe the snipers were actually lurking in the background, and at one time their blue chevy even getting caught on news footage, of that fiasco of the white van with the two mexican immigrants? This is chilling and absolutely outrageous .....

No. What's outrageous is the coppers blocking 1-95 (and other major highways) after a shooting. Going though each white van, looking at each car and not making up a database however crude. The fact that John Muhammad's NJ plate was run through the national police database 10 times thus escaped the authorities. IOW This NJ license plate appeared a combined 10 at shooting scenes and in the greater Wash DC area

Thanks for the Zebra killer info. I hadn't heard of it. There's been other killings like this around the country also, but the media doesn't mention these things.

.From the Washington Post.

"We were looking for a white van with white people, and we ended up with a blue car with black people," said D.C. Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey, whose department ran the Caprice's tags on Oct. 3, just hours before a fatal shooting in the District that has been tied to the sniper suspects, John Allen Muhammad, 41, and John Lee Malvo, 17.

What I want to know is why didn't the cop in Ramsey's department who ran the tags NOTICE A BIG HOLE IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR and look further?

How many other license plate numbers were also recorded six times, or even seven? We don't know.

How many out of state plates were recorded in the vicinity of six or seven sniper attacks? Sure, we don't know - but it's certainly safe to say the number is so small it would've allowed for some extensive background checks on each driver (my guess is, that number is ONE). Even after the third spotting there were likely only a handful of crossmatches to all three, as we're talking about different locations, different time of day, etc.

The cops should've spent their time databasing all the plates allowed through their roadblocks. Instead, they were too busy searching white vans to make it appear they were doing something useful.
