Libertarian Tom Petrone is running for the state House because he wants to give people a choice other than Republicans who dominate Northwest Florida ballots.
An informed choice, however, it may not be. Petrone can't name the Republican he's challenging for the District 3 seat.
"I believe it's a young lady from up there," said Petrone, 54, of Pompano Beach near Fort Lauderdale. "I can't think of her name right now."

LOL!
Comprising the Libertarian Party vanguard is Papa "Blue Skin" Smurf in Montana, and the Mad Spitter in California.
The there's perpetual loser Harry Browne who only stays in the race because receiving campaign contributions from quixotic knuckleheads beats working for a living.

Kevin, every post you make reconfirms that YOU are FR's smallest mind. -- And one of it's biggest socialists.

"...welcome to the Libertarian Party, the ONLY party fighting socialism in America."
Shake off that dream. Maybe one day we'll be able to welcome you to a place called REALITY - do you suppose?

LOL! I love it!!!! We ought to post that on all the Republican vs. Libertarian threads, just to remind people.
The Republicans have the Elephant, the Democrats have the Donkey, and the Libertarians...the Smurf!!!!
Somehow, a fantasy cartoon gnome seems appropriate.

How could you even THINK about using the word "reality" around fanatical Libertarians? For the Love of God, this is a "party" with a candidate who turned himself
blue, deliberately!!! Not to mention the one that the thread began discussing who has no idea who he's running against!
Oh, and let's not forget how they're going to "save" us from socialism...by electing Democrats, and how it is THEY, and THEY alone, who can read, interpret, and defend the Constitution! And they'll do all this with only 2% of the vote and no national elected members.
Reality? Only if you've recently gobbled some of that mushroom that Roscoe's Smurf is parked on.

Only if you've recently gobbled some of that mushroom that Roscoe's Smurf is parked on.If I vote for a Libertarian, will that be legal?
To: Long Cut
who has no idea who he's running against Well, he knew that he was running against a Republican. Working against Republicans is the important thing for these guys.

NAAHHHH, one more vote wouldn't bring them any closer to winning. Even if they got a smile from God above and won, they'd be absolutely unable to work with anyone to get things done, what with their "our way or the highway/WE know better/WE are the Defenders Of The Faith etc..." attitudes.
Any Libertarian President or legislator would quickly find himself useless and irrelevant, possibly even impeached.

I was just wondering about the mushrooms. : ) (Why do I get the feeling that sort of thing is the most powerful political motivator for some of these folks?)

(Why do I get the feeling that sort of thing is the most powerful political motivator for some of these folks?) What?! You never wanted to become a licensed medical doctor without having to study hard in college?! You don't like having to pay for the consequences of the personally irresponsible?!

You are quoting a marxist as your beloved authority, curry, not me.
