With next to no notice my Upper East Side Manhattan voting location and Election District were changed. I was able to vote because my schedule kept me near home early in the day, but I expect a lot of confusion tonight. This has to hurt McCall, not that it matters, as Manhattan is limo lib central.

Voted in Cheeseadland (Wisconsin) around 8:45. I was number 30, which may not be bad for my polling place, where voting is usually light. No poll watchers. Very light rain and cloudy, not cold at all.

Gave my address, and the worker, as usual, couldn't pronounce my name correctly so I spelled it for her. No ID needed.

I could, if I wanted to, go vote somewhere else since we have same day voting and I do have mail with other addresses printed on it, such as my office address. I personally probably couldn't get away with being someone else since I am somewhat known, but I could use my own name and vote in more than one place.

Maybe someday something will be done to tighten up that system.

My wife and I voted for Saxby Chambliss and Sonny Perdue and all the other Republicans this morning.

One of the ladies at the polling place said they had been busy all morning, so the predicted 54% turnout in Georgia may come true in spite of the rain.

Incidentally, the touch screen voting machines are a pleasure to use.

Just voted in NC ..... straight Republican. Good turnout in my precinct so far but it's beginning to rain now .... don't know if that might "dampen" the turnout the rest of the day.

Oh, just wanted to report that here in my very Republican parish voter turnout is extremely high, despite the very bad weather.

I asked about turnout when I was there at about 10 a.m. and the poll workers told me that it was much higher than the 2000 election. My parents vote at another polling place and they were told that turnout so far has been MORE THAN TRIPLE that of the 2000 election. Most of these people are voting Republican!!! Mary Landrieu had better start cleaning out her desk.

Voted absentee in Texas last week - Rick Perry GOV. and John Cornyn Sen. - Certainly we won't elect a Dem. to statewide office here in Texas.....only possiblility I see for that is John Sharp as Lt. Gov - which in Texas actually has more power than the Gov - so let's pray Dewurst beats Sharp !!
The party of Ann Richards and Molly Ivans hopefully will have one more shovelful of dirt thrown on their casket today!

Voted 11:00 am GA's Cynthia McKinney's ex district. POURING RAIN AND HEAVY TURNOUT IN A VERY LIBRAL DISTRICT. But a lot of seniors at the poll who traditionally vote Republican here.

Just voted in NW NJ About 15 people at the polls around 11am. Very Republican, got my vote in for Forrester, beautiful weather, should have no effect on turnout.

Does this mean the end of the Democratic Thurmond death-watch then?

They've still got it till January. Sorry to see him go and I wish him well. I think his 100th birthday is in December. We say if Thurmond dies in office, we're just going to leave him there, right next to Hillary.
