The problem is that IRC isn't point and click easy for most people. The Radio FR chat server is a fully irc compliant server but uses a java client so you don't have to have mIRC, pIRCh, or xchat to use it :)

What about the Yahoo chat room? That's where I was for the 2000 election.

There is a #free^republic on galaxynet too. That was pretty busy right after the 2000 election, but is otherwise mostly unoccupied.

You can listen in or call us:

UNSPUN Election Night Special - Tuesday, November 5, 2002, 8 p.m-midnite ET/5 p.m.-9 p.m. PT

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE AN ELECTION NIGHT "FIELD REPORTER"?

And as agitator linked above, there will be an open chat room as well.

The Radio FreeRepublic Chat Server is UP!

EABinGA has written a FreeRepublic "headline service"
that will pop up a small window containing the latest posts with
click-able links so you won't miss any breaking news while you're
chatting!

The RFR chat server is (almost) always up for registered users. If you want
a registered account, send me a freepmail with your nickname and a password
(must be at least 5 characters long) and I'll set it up for ya!

The 'Rats at democratic[sic]underground.com have posted the link to this thread with the following message:

"This is for information purposes only. No disruption please."

This from the folks who still insist that BJ Clinton didn't perjure himself and that Al "Prince of Dorkness" Gore invented the Internet. In other words, prepare to be disrupted.
