Bob Smith went independent then switched back to the Republican Party. Will Jeffords be next?

Can't the Pubbies NOT accept him back? That should be what they do.

If not Jeffords, there may be other Rats that don't want to be in the minority. It will be interesting to see this angle play out.

What difference does it make what label he pastes on himself? Everyone now know what's inside.

As an independent I guess he can caucus with anyone that wants to be near his carcus. Still, does anyone really wants him? The election in Vermont should be interesting. Jeffords against a Republican and a Democrat?

As the Major I work for says "A traitor has no country"

Hey Jim how does it feel to be the most meaningless man in Washington.

Screw Jeffords. He ought to have his head dunked in a bucket of subsidized milk.

The GOP ought to do everything they can to exact revenge from this piece of trash. Let it be a lesson to future potential traitors (Chafee, McCain).

He can choose to caucus with the Republicans, but I can't see them ever giving him a good committee seat. As one commentator said this AM, he is now the least significant man in the Senate - an Ind. who caucuses with the minority party. Not exactly the way he saw it playing out!

He should positively NOT be given the opportunity. Fair weather patriot.

Fool us once, shame on him. Fool us twice, shame on us.

LOL!!! At least somebody else thinks like me. I actually woke up at 3:30 after going to bed at 2:00 and the thought that popped into my head was, "Will Jeffords switch?"

I really don't think so, but glad I'm not the only one that thought of the question.

Bob Smith left the GOP because it wasn't conservative enough. He found out he had no where to go, so he came back.

Jeffords is a socialist. He's gone to the perfect place. No chance he comes back.

I ask myself this too, but I think he would have done it if the split had been within one. It's not like we all didn't know the reason he switched last time.

What Jeffords does is now immaterial. Let him stay where he is - he is not needed and is now insignificant. Just the kind of future he deserves.

The GOP will win both SD and LA. Our majority is assured even if McCain goes to the dems (which I predict he will).

We've done it! We got out, we voted, our theology, philosophy, and ideology won.

Way to GO!

Jeffords gambled, he went with history of the opposition gaining seats in the midterms, thinking that the Senate would go Demoncrap in the midterm election, he figured he would have at least 4 years of smooth sailing, Sometimes even those "sure bet"'s lose. ROTFLMAO. He's done.
