Character of Revolution

Character of Revolution

A revolution is never pretty.

Revolutions occur as a result of a breaking point... one which is inflamed, pressed against by the controlling power, and finally broken by a torrent of popular outrage. They are often violent, and rarely occur without loss of life or property.

As a result of countless and degrading insults to our inherent rights as Men... and as a result of the dismissive and unconstitutional attitude taken by our Government to these same rights... what was taboo just ten years ago is now spoken of openly in our streets and homes, in our places of business and assembly.

People are talking about revolution - armed revolution, not from economic want or from political opposition - but from a growing certainty that our rights are under final and fatal assault.

This is far more than a mere idiosyncrasy held by extreme and violent fringe elements of society. This is a view held by ever more individuals across America.

What is the nature of this seething discontent - and the willingness to break the social barriers of political correctness?

It is a recognition that alternatives may no longer preserve freedom.

Just ten years ago, the sight of law enforcement officers wearing masks would have been a horrifying and terrible thing. Today, it is a common and accepted practice.

Ten years ago it would have been unthinkable that nearly a hundred men, women and children would be gassed and burned to death by the tanks of the Federal Government within our borders. Ten years ago it would have been dismissed as paranoid and delusional that a Federal sniper would be awarded a bravery medal for firing his rifle through the head of an unarmed, pregant woman as she held her child in her arms.

Today, it is generally accepted that their fate would be shared by any who dared to resist outrageous and arbitrary government with force.

This is not calculated to generate peace and security.

Look at the nature of the American character! We are a strong people, a powerful people. We are committed to the recognition and preservation of our rights - indeed, our entire construct of government is founded upon this principle of liberty and justice for all. We are the land of the free...

...and of the brave.

And brave men will always remain free - because they hold their lives cheap in comparison to the freedom of their children.

We are not yet at a point where insurrection is springing up across the nation. We are not yet at a point where tyrants in public office walk in fear of bombing assassinations, where police stations are manned with heavy machine guns to protect them from an angry mob.

May God grant that America never sees such rage and passion springing forth at home.

But yet look at what is occuring, across the nation, even now:

Are weapons being stockpiled?

They are.

Are patriots changing the tone of their words?

They are.

Does the word revolution begin to assume the character of a delivering word, rather than an abhorrent abrogation of our social system?

In many ways, it already has. And this, I feel, must be a stern and glaring warning to those who would trample the foundation of this country under their desires for unchecked power and authority.

These would-be-rulers risk not merely the freedoms of the People - and not only the lives and safety of thousands - but also the stability of America, and its role as the brilliant example of We, the People, entrusted to rule ourselves.

Americans will never accept despotic authority.

Our military will never accept dictatorship.

Our Constitution does not permit these things.

And that, in the final analysis, is the ultimate warning that must be recognized by tyrants in government.

The days of Hitler and Napoleon, of Alexander and Mussolini are forever over... and will never be permitted to arise here.

The first and last were destroyed by Americans with rifles. The character of those Americans remains... as do the tools of freedom that they bore in the struggle for freedom.

Let our nation take stock in itself, and transform the bleating of ignorant and passive people who seek security instead of freedom, the simplicity of tyranny instead of the responsibility of liberty - into a strong and unequivocal call for the return of our Republic to the roots of its greatness.

Thomas Jefferson was clear and correct:

"But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government..."

Once in our history was enough.

Best regards,

Not yet. But sooner rather than later.

I was about to say "I don't think so; the Republicans won considerably so everybody will go back to sleep now," but then I read the thread posted immediately before this ( here) and, well... I still wonder.

It was just over ten years ago that an FBI sniper did precisely that.

That incident was exactly what the author was referencing.
