The Winning Strategy to Defeat Mary Landrieu (Election still runs hot in Louisiana)

Sen. Mary L. Landrieu can be defeated using the following strategy:

1. What is extremely rare, if not unique, is the fact that the citizens of Louisiana will have the opportunity to decide AFTER THE ELECTION whether they want to elect a Senator who is part of the majority (Republican) party in the Senate, or is part of the minority.

2. The advantage of being part of the majority party is that the Senator has far more influence over legislation and the return of funds to the state. Right now, Louisiana other Senator is a Democrat, which puts the state at a great disadvantage in the new Republican Senate.

3. If Louisiana elects Landrieu, they will have both Senators in the opposition party, and will be in a very poor position for Senate power and Committee seats.

4. The special opportunity they have is to elect a Republican and greatly increase their power and influence.

5. Prior to the election, there was no telling who would win, but now that the composition of the Senate has been decided, they have a chance to choose with certainty whether their representative will be part of the majority.

6. If employed properly, this could be a deciding factor in the election.

7. If you have contacts in the Terrell campaign or the Republican leadership, please convey this opportunity to anyone you can. The Republican leadership should also deliver a very clear message to Republican Gov. Mike Foster that he will destroy his political career if he sabotages this opportunity. That he would even contemplate abandoning Landrieu is an outrage.

8. The people of Louisiana would have to be out and out fools to knowingly choose to have a representative who will be ineffective in representing their interests in the government.

When you're only up one run in the 8th inning, it isn't a good idea to spend a lot of time gloating.

The Louisiana run-off is in December, and I am asking for support for our last "man" at bat, Suzanne Haik Terrell.

Suzanne Haik Terrell, graduate of Loyola University Law School, former New Orleans City Council member, first Republican woman to hold statewide office (as Elections Commissioner.) Since taking office in 2000 she has achieved many of her goals, cutting the bloated Department's budget by canceling contracts, streamlining operations, and downsizing the Department's spending practices and personnel.

You are of course right: we cannot afford to be the least bit complacent.

In fact: It should be the top priority for us all to contribute in every way possible to the defeat of Landrieu. There is no telling what might happen if the Democrats win in South Dakota and in Louisiana: you will recall that we have another New England "Republican" Senator who is contemplating another Jeffords-style betrayal, threatening that if the Republican Senate goes too far in its conservative agenda he will leave the party and support the Democrats. If we win in Louisiana, the Republican majority will be secured even in the event of such a switch.

If by winning in Louisiana we have just one seat to spare, this will have two crucially important benefits:

1. It will suggest to any possible Republican defector in the Senate that there is nothing to be gained (and much to be lost) by stabbing the Republican Senate majority in the back, since Republicans would hold a multi-seat majority and, retaining control, would be in a position to exact retribution.

2. As long as the Republican majority holds by merely a single vote, Republicans will be held hostage to the threat that other prospective Republica traitors in the Northeast will jump ship if Republican agenda appears "too aggressively conservative." In other words, if we win in Louisiana and hold an extra Senate seat as a buffer, such restraints on the Republican majority (especially in judicial appointments) will be removed and we will be free to retrieve America from the Democrat political death grip which has been choking the country for decades.

3. Therefore, Louisiana is "must win" if we are to have a free hand to accomplish our goals and have any hope of saving our country from its vulnerability to a slide into irretrievable moral, intellectual and economic degradation.

Foster is trying to blackmail Presisent Bush and has not enforsed Terrell, he wants somethng he is not getting. My respect for Foster has decreased greatly.

It's time for political hardball with Foster, and someone has to deliver the message loud and clear! There is more at stake here than his political vanity.

I attended a Republican Roundtable in Lake Charles, La. on Friday. This is a once-a-month luncheon of local republican minded people. The guest speaker was a strategist from the Louisiana GOP (first name Jason) and he detailed many of the facts concerning a minority senator in Washington. They, the Louisiana GOP, have several excellent tactics for mobilizing our base and getting the message out. I don't want to detail any here for fear of a "me too" by the demcrats.

One fact that favors us in this runoff is the fact that the election, being held on Saturday December 7, will most likely have a very low voter turnout. Our base of voters on the republican side are more likely to get out and vote than the Democratic base... I am very excited about the prospects of Terrel unseating the Hillary wanna-be.

Landrieu recently announced she was firing her Washington based set of campaign advisors. Her strategy is to do it the Louisian way (her description of the new strategy). Hopefully, these angry Republicans will not be so selfish that they are willing to allow Louisiana to suffer because they are angry at the process. If they do, as Sen. Smith did in New Hampshire, and not support or help the Republican candidate, they will find themselves very unpopular in the next election.

Senator Landrieu supports the "Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women" (CEDAW). Despite its benign title, this is the bill intended to impose radical feminism globally through the fascists UN.

Foster's in his second term as governor and doesn't have any further political ambitions. Difficult to imagine what Bush or anyone else could do to play hardball with him. He's independent enough that any attempt would probably backfire.

Thanks for reminding me about Bubba and his movements. His Royal Prickness is in the Bay Area today honoring a church for its 150 years anniversary.

It is a black church, of course, in San Francisco. Amos Brown, a pulpit radical if ever there was one, is the "Reverend" for this place.

Should be a real party goin' on there later. I wonder of Bubba is gonna hit North Beach or go smoke crack in Oakland, do a couple drive-bys?
