Communist Chinese Heavily Penetrating Canada -- And People Thought I Was Nutty

Communist Chinese Heavily Penetrating Canada -- And People Thought I Was Nutty

by Linda A. Prussen-Razzano

Several months ago, I focused attention on our peaceful northern neighbor, Canada, and the problems they were apparently having with the Communist Chinese. Inasmuch as the Communist Chinese successfully infiltrated every level of the Clinton Administration with a cash-for-access plan, a dual process was taking place in Canada.

Massive land purchases and alarming dual-use technology business buy-outs were documented in Project Sidewinder, compiled by Canadian Security Intelligence Service (the full report still hasn't been released). Communist Chinese were filtering through Canada, only to disappear somewhere in America.

Dual-use technology purchases of fiber optic gyroscopes, funneled through Canadian businesses to China, were exposed by custom agents. My concern over these activities, and my assertion that they were part of a coordinated effort, made some people speculate that I had tipped my bag and lost a few of my proverbial marbles.

Nevertheless, Chinese spies were successful in infiltrating the Atomic Energy of Canada, Ltd., (AECL) and making off with plans for their Slowpoke nuclear reactor. The AECL has recently been forced to shelve it's own plans to sell the reactor abroad because China's stolen copy is much less expensive. According to a Globe report dated January 24, 2000, China didn't even have the courtesy to change the reactor's name, calling their own a "Slowpoke." How did they gain access to this technology? A source indicated, "What they didn't buy, they stole." (Globe, January 24, 2000). Sound familiar? When I attempted to focus attention on Senator Tom Daschle's plan to give the Soviets $1.2 billion on military aid (of which they ultimately received $444,000,000), decrying their continued cooperation with China's military build-up, some folks were positive I had turned daffy.

Nevertheless, in August of 1999, China purchased 2 billion in Su-30MKK fighter jets, which are now in use, and on December 25, 1999, accepted delivery of a Russian Sovremenny Class destroyer, Type 956. We pay them millions to keep their military solvent, and China buys billions in Russian military technology. Who is kidding who?

When I chided Congress for not listening to FBI Director Louis Freeh's 1997 testimony before the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, regarding his concerns for expanding encryption code allowances, some folks thought I was uninformed.

Nevertheless, the United States is now pressing China's government to comply with new encryption regulations by February 1, 2000, in the hopes of getting the encryption horse back in the barn:

"Under regulations that take effect on Monday, all foreign and mainland companies or individuals using encryption technology, which protects electronic communication from eavesdropping, must register with the government." (South China Morning Post, "Encryption Rules Focus of US Talks," Reuters in Washington, January 29, 2000).

Given their past record of non-compliance, we have nothing to fear, right?

When I insisted that our disastrous policy of continued engagement with China could only hurt the United States, some folks were sure I was overreacting.

Nevertheless, "Andy Marshall, who takes charge of threats evaluation section of the US Department of Defense, recently said that he was worried that 'a nonsymmetrical war' would break out [over Taiwan] in which US weak points would be thoroughly exposed. Under Marshall's instructions, former Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary Bai Bang-rui designed a war game with China as the opponent, which showed that although the US had the most powerful armament in the world, more often than not it became the loser in a fight against the PLA." (BBC Summary of World Broadcasts, January 17, 2000).

Don't mind me. I'm just counting my marbles.

Honestly, the Canadian version of George Bush better step up before Alberta and other parts of Western Canada decide to go it without Ontario and Quebec.

Calling or moron Prime Minister "the Canadian version of George Bush" is like calling Bill Clinton "the '90s version of Ronald Reagan"!

On the bright side, the Canada Chapter is planning to make Da Moron's life a bit uncomfortable on November 18th as we storm Parliament Hill in our biggest FReep ever!

Stay tuned for details!

If you love the Chinese restaurants in Toronto just think how much you could enjoy the cuisine in Beijing!

There is very good cuisine available in Beijing, let me assure you. But very different from anything you'd get in a "Chinese" restaurant here (except maybe the Peking duck -- rich, but good...). Sunday breakfasts down south are also excellent -- very like dim sum.

I wonder if it's true that the Chinese enjoy dining on aborted fetuses? I just read that within the past two days here on FR.

If they do, they kept them out of sight when I was there. LOL. (ugh)

It will take America years to recover from the destructive effects of the Clinton Administration, but now that the U.S. is back on track, we will recover and surge ahead. Thank God for George Bush--now and especially this Thanksgiving!

------------------------------------

How in the world is the U. S. back on track? Is ther another U.S, and another Bush somewhere that I don't know about and to which you are referring?

Company has won a judgement in US Courts against China.

Unenforcable in a country that doesn't recognize American law.

I have never forgotten. They were as lovely as any people I have ever met.

Chinese restaurants and the people who run them are among the greatest people and institutions in the world. The people there are hard-working and warm. It's my observation that the average Chinese restraurant sends five kids through engineering school.

They don't eat fetuses. They do eat dogs, something I refuse to do.

I like your comments. Trade actually weakens the Chicoms as the people will get more and more tastes of freedom. Western diets and movies will make them fat, weak and stupid. Where has Chinese nuclear technology come from? Where has their latest space technology come from? The actual nuts and bolts may be Ruskie, but the cutting edge knowledge to make the stuff work well came from the minions of Bill Clinton - Loral, security relaxations at the DOE, etc. Clinton is the greatest agent the Commies ever had, next to FDR. The Canadian flag has a red, multipointed star on it, cleverly disguised as a Maple Leaf. It doesn't fool me. WalMart is America at its best - by crushing Socialistic/Communist labor unions and making the Chinese economy dependent on exporting cheap Christmas ornaments and garden furniture. There's still many things that are produced in the USA, just not chintzy bric-a-brac. I drive a wonderful American made Toyota and always "buy American" whenever possible.

I don't see any easy answers...

Well I don't either. However, we can make an investment in a proper border barrier (whatever that is.) That plus much tighter immigration controls will improve the situation tremendously IMO.

You didn't express yourself badly. I understood. I just wondered what the arguments were.

What you say makes sense. I'm just not sure that the use of the military to secure our borders wouldn't constitute defense against attack from outside our borders. I think it might.

Yes. The military must not be used to control the citizenry. That is an absolute.

No, RL. You haven't heard? The election was held last Tuesday. It was a landslide victory!

I don't like to watch TV either, and I never read the newspapers; so I don't blame you.

Yes! The U.S. is back on track!

(Maybe you shouldn't let yourself get completely out of touch like that.)

It's time to close our borders!

This will not happen because it is official non-official policy to keep them open. By this I mean it would be political suicide for congress to increase the numbers of legal immigrants to the US but they want the increase so to acheive this end they stopped enforcing the laws and opened the borders to illegals. Why do they want more people in this country when 85-90% of those polled across all demographic lines want it stopped? The common understanding is that the Dems want more voters and the Pubs want cheap labor. Could be part of the equation but I believe it has more to do with keeping out Social Security system afloat ie. to stop government from failure -neither party can allow that. Because of the high cost of living pepole here can not aford to have large families. Coupled with the pill and abortion our population is shrinking. We need to increase the numbers to keep our socialist ponzi scheme going.

Speaking of official non-offical policies I am not sure that we are not allowing the Chinese to do what they do. Not to discount the fact that real spying does take place as well as real bribery/sell-outs/treason but sometimes high up policy is done covertly around congress and public scrutiny. Say for example the old Industrial/Military complex wants more money to spend but the cold war is over and people think there should be a downsizing instead. Allow China to steal our high tech capabilty and then we will have to have newer weapons systems to stay ahead of them. Just something to ponder.

Not related to this thread at all but since I see you here I thought to ask. Did I read somewhere one time that you stated that your father was in vaudeville and used to play cards with George Burns? If so could you write about your father's career and post it sometime?
Thanks,

P.S. if I have you confused with someone else sorry about that.

Brian, this isn't Canada fault. Lay it right in the lap of our country with our insistence that everyone follow our customs and also the fact that WE are having the same problem via Mexico.

Look at the long list of things that have become part of the Clinton Legacy - puting foreign nations into positions where they could pass on classified information and do great harm - especially those classified as enemies.

WE, the citizen are ultimately responsible for what happens in our country. WE had the chance to get him out and didn't stay on our people in the Senate. I believe that their is enough evidence in the public domain at the present time to have Clinton tried and convicted for Treason. Someday, someone, somewhere will pull it all together and everyone will rise up in fury because it wasn't done.

The Clinton Curse started when he went to Moscow for his training during the Vietnam era after being thrown out of Oxford. Instead of taking an honest look at the man, the Democrats saw only a connection to Kennedy. They thought he looked like him and acted like him - how wrong they were.

>They used to give citizenship to anyone who was willing bring $500,000 to Canada.

They do this because Canadian citizens have been taxed so hard for so long, they are broke. Chinese have a tradition of growin their wealth offshore and free of taxation. They pass their wealth on generationally again free of governmental jurisdictions which have inheritance taxes.
