Los Angeles -- Congresswoman Lois Capps, a Democrat from Santa Barbara, recently eased some of her anxieties about oil drilling in the waters off her district by pushing through an amendment to a House spending bill that would ban money for any new wells along California's Central Coast.

Funny. Dems think of government as the source of ever-flowing money for "social programs." But in CA, the ultimate source, the Federal government, is now run by the opposition party.

I used to live in California but I saw where it was heading so I left about 30 years ago. As far as I am concerned the whole state can slide off into the sea. It is truly the land of fruits and nuts. It will only get worse as time goes on.
