I guess it would be appropriate to point out that Superman was an illegal alien.

As a man from a small farming community in a rural state, Superman is a Democrat.

On helluva assumption. I guess that omits:

- Abraham Lincoln
- Dwight Eisenhower
- Ronald Reagan

Yeah, right? What's up with that? Here you have a guy who enlisted into the Army to fight the Germans during WW II, and ends up being trained by the military to be a super soldier. Yet he suddenly develops a problem with killing bad guys? Even when he has to? Even when they're genocidal madmen? Did I miss something, because that just doesn't sound right. That Steve Rogers guy must've been real damn naive if he thought he'd be able to fight the Germans without actually killing any of them (And he enlisted without knowing that he'd become Captain America, so he must've expected to have been issued a gun with which he's supposed to shoot the enemy).

Even AFTER he becomes Captain America, the guy was STILL trained by the military. They sure as hell didn't teach him not to kill the enemy. So what the hell happened?

Batman's (maybe not-so) distant 'Log Cabin' relatives on the West Coast..

You ever you see how Clark Kent with those x-ray eyes used to look Louis Lane? Definitely libertarian leanings I'd say.

Are you saying that libertarians are gay?

In brightest day
In darkest night
no evil can escape my sight
For those who worship evil's might
Beware my power
Green Lantern's light

When it comes to such stuff Batman is by far my fave. Even more than Azrael. The reason i did not really like Azrael is because:

a) Batman kicked his @$$ (even though Azrael had that special suit of his, while Batz was still suffering from his tussle with Bane).

b) Batman is psychotic, and so is Azrael. However Batman's psychosis is internal and he uses it as a driving force ....while Azrael's is due to some secret cabal that brainwashed him and implanted crazy motives into his mind.

Also i remember one time where Batman took out every member of the justice League (from Superman to the Green Lantern ....each and every member), and the way Batz did this was due to the deep research he had done on his superhuman friends where he had come up with stratagems to neutralize each and everyone of them. Hence even though Batman had no superpowers he managed to knock out every member (he later decided to save them).

Batz finally does not rely on special powers ....just his wit and training. Almost every other personality has some power that is preternatural ..but not Batman. Hence him being my favorite by far (the only guy who comes close by the way is DareDevil. However Batz still comes out on top).

As for Superman i can only say that my allegiance is with Lex Luthor!

OK, I know that's David Bowie on the left, but who are the other two? (Actually I know who they are.)

My real question (and this is rhetorical): does the 'G' guy realize that the other guy's "A" is bigger?

Oh, I don't deny that Batman is the better character. The anti-gun thing the writers have stuck in, lately, is the only thing that pisses me off about him. Can't deny, though, that Azrael looks a lot cooler. :P

But yeah, I always love it when Batman kicks the snot out of the super-powered types. AlwAYS good reading, there.

Guess what burns me, though, is when liberal writers take these great characters who AREN'T liberals (Like Batman and Captain America), and then ram liberal beliefs into them in order to push their beliefs onto the reader. All of a sudden Batman, who has NEVER cared a damn about Gun Control but about punishing the criminals, is suddenly phobic about guns. Captain America, who's a trained soldier and should be willing to kill when it comes to it, is ridden with guilt because in the course of saving some hostages who're about to be murdered he has to kill 2 terrorists. The hell? One of the reasons I got out of comics. Wolverine was one of the few tolerable comic characters left around.

I think you are confusing Supes akwardness with the ladies as Clark Kent (his cover for being Supes) as Log Cabin/Libertarian leanings.

Supes is as hetero as they come, and definitely GOP all the way. (no matter why Chris Reeves may try and say)

Batman isn't anti-gun. He just doesn't use one himself. In Batman Beyond he retired because his heart almost gave out on him and he almost got the person he was trying rescue killed. He has never stated that he was against the second amendment or gun ownership.

As for Azreal I thought he was cancelled....

Wow. Was "Louis" Lois's brother, father, cousin, or what? Regardless, the evidence builds; Superman was gay.

LOL. Yes, a hidden message on my part. A thinly disguised attempt at really saying Clark's x-ray eyes were gazing at Jimmy Olsen. I just didn't have the heart to say it.

No doubt in my mind that Batman is a wealthy liberal, all of those glitzy fundraising galas for various Gotham City causes that Bruce Wayne would use to consort with liberal babes as his 'cover' for his Log Cabin downtime with Robin.

Ok, let me take on my Rusty Shackleford alter ego for a moment.

I believe Superman is a representation of the New Soviet Man.

Consider the following:
1)Superman allegedly fights for the American Way, but the color white is not part of his uniform. Oh yeah, the blue is there to throw the gullible public, but what's in the middle of his chest? A big Red(and not American flag red) 'S' with a yellow diamond background. Lessee, red and yellow what colors could those be?

2)Superman's arch-enemy is a successful capitalist(ahem)

3)The communists in the West were obsessed with the idea of a New Soviet Man, some kind of perfect commie specimen that would be the result of the utopia they'd lead us into. Superman has all these amazing powers, obviously

4)Superman would be a normal person on his planet, just as a Soviet Man would be just another Commie living his life for the collective. But on Earth(or the US) he stands out for his greatness(exemplification of communism)

5)Peasant background of his adoptive family. Glorious peasant collectivization

6)Works for a muckracking paper, I'm sure doing lots of reporting on evil guns and capitalists

That's all I can think of at this point. </Rusty Shackleford aka Dale Gribble>
