TERRORISM: National Guard Recruiting
November 13, 2002; Across America, National Guard forces are mobilizing for the inevitable. If you are prior service, make the call to the local recruiter and ask - particularly if you have held a low density Military Occupation Specialty. Troops who have been out for some time - even for years - can be accepted back if they meet certain standards. It never hurts to make the call and see if you can help. - Adam Geibel

Across America, National Guard forces are mobilizing for the inevitable. The bin Laden tape was a huge signal coupled with last month's UK terrorist alert and the new UN Iraq resolution has domestic and allied intel gathering services on high alert.

See foreign lands, be exposed to foreign cultures, close with and kill the enemy - but only on weekends.

Good citizens owning guns to protect themselves and their family members as per our 2nd amendment are the first reserve that America has.
If this thing gets serious at home, we will have to have a home guard using loyal Americans who were in the military.
Jeff Head has advocated this since over a year ago.
To: Destro
I was out 6-7 years and only lost one paygrade. Go for it!
Staying reserve means never 'wanting to volunteer, only to be turned away because you're too old.' I know that's happened to a lot of good people in the past year or so. Keep your foot in the door.

The new Homeland Security bill has more folks at the boarders. I'm sure they could use plenty of patriots there. It's a lot of area to cover.

Here's the latest installment of such a proposal ...

Cool! I was a 46Q (yes, a combat journalist) in the Guard and have been out for about 5 years now. Never hurts to check, eh?
Let's see if I can remember:
"Mr. Rather, that is confidential information. I can neither confirm nor deny such a thing, sir. No sir, you are not cleared to accompany the convoy north to Baghdad."

"If this thing gets serious at home, we will have to have a home guard using loyal Americans who were in the military."
We're already here, whether all of us and our neighbors realize it or not......

You are correct. It is here and some of these devils have been here all their lives in America.
To: LincolnLover
Do you have to go through basic training to be a combat journalist? Does it even matter if I'm already 32?

But Muhammad was already working for our National Guard.
Is the N.G. infiltrated with other Al-Fuqra ?
Is John Muhammad going to be called up for active duty?
1994 Leaves the Army on April 6, 1994 and works for National Guard in Portland, Ore.

If this plays out like I think it might, nearly everyone will be a potential combatant, whether they have military training or not. Civilian self-defense training will most likely become a growth industry.

I have been out since 81, I am 43, and I run 3.5 miles a day, twice in a row lately after hiking...and I am too old to go back in any service!
Unless there is a draft they told me...
To: China Clipper
Im 43 and I am too old!
This is nonsense, us old fogies that are eager should be given a pair of night vision scopes, and a rifle, and a radio and placed on the border with a pot of coffee!!
