N. Korea says it has bio-arms

Yomiuri Shimbun

North Korea admitted to U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James Kelly in early October that it not only had a nuclear weapons program, but also possessed biological and other weapons of mass destruction, government sources said Wednesday.

The new revelation that Pyongyang admitted to possession of WMD will influence Thursday's board meeting of the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Program (KEDO) in New York, the sources said.

During Kelly's visit to Pyongyang in early October, Kang Sok Ju, a high-ranking North Korean official who is believed to be a close aide to leader Kim Jong Il, admitted Pyongyang had a nuclear weapons program.

At the same time, First Vice Foreign Minister Kang reportedly suggested that the communist state possessed biological and chemical weapons, saying, "Apart from nuclear weapons, North Korea has biological and every form of other weapons," in an attempted threat to the U.S. side, the sources said.

The Japanese government has suspected Pyongyang possessed biological and chemical weapons.

The white paper on defense for fiscal 2002 stated that North Korea had facilities capable of producing chemicals, indicating that it possessed a sizable amount of chemicals.

The paper also said Pyongyang likely had infrastructure capable of producing limited amounts of biological weapons.

Thanks to the wisdom of Clinton and democrats solving problems, they have nuclear weapons. Now, they have biochemical.

Almost seems they are taunting us now and trying to divert our attention to them instead of Iraq. What is going on?

I've looked up North Korea's military. Their tanks are mostly woefully outdated T-62s, T-54s, and T-34s. Their aircraft are 40 MiG-29s and hundreds of older MiGs. Their only significant military power is their NBC weapons.

not only had a nuclear weapons program, but also possessed biological and other weapons of mass destruction, government sources said Wednesday.

I don't know for sure, but those who brag about what they have may be trying to cover for a lack of it.
These guys are speaking too easily. "Yeh, we have radioactive sonic wave length distributers than disolve our enimies in seconds, too!"
There's something fishy about how "honest" they're being.
I think they may just be full of CRAP!
I believed them before I read this article. Now, I'm seriously doubting their "confessions."
They're trying to make a fool out of the U.S. That's all they're doing.

That's my opinion, anyway.

"I was right on top of this, but the CIA, the Pentagon, the FBI, even the Basement interfeared with my Black Ninja fighters jumping from Cobra gunships to enjoin these bad guys somewhere over there..." So said former US president, Stain Clinton. (barf)

What is going on?

Perhaps they mistakenly believe they'll get the same reaction they did from the Clinton administration ... appeasement?

Has anyone other than me seen the old Warner Brothers cartoon with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd where a frustrated and confused Daffy Duck is arguing with Bugs about who Elmer was to shoot first? The scene ended with Daffy wildly yelling "He doesn't have to shoot YOU now, he has to shoot ME now....SO SHOOT ME NOW!" Somehow I see North Korea screaming "SHOOT ME NOW!" to the Pentagon when they start bragging about nuclear, biological and chemical program. It's about as smart as China making veiled threats to nuke Los Angeles. Using any of those weapons would cause us to blast them back into their componant elements as a warning to the next 10 generations of Easterners.

theyre "defending" iraq, trying to make us look bad for picking on iraq if others have these nukes, biologicals, particularly if theyre part of the axis of evil. i say give them what they are asking for, and we wont look like we just want to smack iraq. equal opportunity demolition for the evil regimes, thats all it takes.

Sheesh!

Confession galore: Kinappings, nukes, now bio-weapons...

Next week: North Korea admits they smoke in the bathroom, leave the toilet lid up, drink milk out of the container, use the last of the TP, never to replace the roll...

I've got an idea. Rummy should rattle their cage and have someone leak to the press that we are quietly shipping large amounts of potasium iodide to Japan and let the North Korean's think we're preparing to minimize the potential effects of radioactive fallout drifting to Japan from Korea. It might give this fool in Korea a moment of pause.
