Sadly, there is a lot of truth in what this person says. My wife is a girl scout leader, her troop is primarily made up of lower middle and low socioeconomic end of spectrum. She took her troop Ice Skating... one of the girls cut her finger, when she took the girl home, and talked with the mother, she told the mother if the girl needs stitches or anything, let her know... etc. etc. etc....

Mother's response:

I'll just let the school handle it tommorrow.

It is amazing that anyone ever escapes the cess pool that is dependent poverty in America.
