Rooney: Journalists Liberal, 'Suprised' Conservatives Won

60 Minutes commentator Andy Rooney who expressed 'surprise' at 'how conservative America has gotten,' nonetheless showed he was more aware of political idealogy than Phil Donahue.

Appearing on MSNBC Tuesday night, to Donahue's dismay, Rooney agreed with best selling author and Former CBS Newsman Bernard Goldbergs contention that most journalists view the world from the left.

'I think that most people I know tend towards the liberal direction, yes.'

When Donahue disagreed, Rooney was taken aback, 'You don't think that is true, come on Phil!'

I actually caught this. When Rooney told Donahue he must be kidding when he denied most reporters were liberal, Donahue came up with the lame old line:

"Well, if you want to call standing up for a woman's right to control her own body and providing help for those most in need 'liberal' . . . "

Rooney's liberal on some issues, conservative on others, but regardless, he's an idiot. His commentary is simply wrong, most of the time. Not just his opinions, but his facts. Don't fact checkers exist any more? Or is Rooney exempt as long as he promises to embarass himself?

It's interesting how leftists like Donahue can see that the hearers of news can hear according to their own ideology (I don't disagree with that) but that the speakers of news are completely unbiased (expect Fox, of course).

You're right about all of that. He is just an overpaid idiot who,for some reason, gets paid alot of money to be wrong about things. Maybe Dasshole can enlighten us on the difference between entertainment and being left and wrong about things all the time. I see Rooney at the home Giant games and get tempted to say something to him but, he looks like such a haggard old man shuffling to his seat that I just let it be.
