Nov. 22 —  The FBI is investigating whether the Saudi Arabian government—using the bank account of the wife of a senior Saudi diplomat—sent tens of thousands of dollars to two Saudi students in the United States who provided assistance to two of the September 11 hijackers, according to law-enforcement sources.

WHOA!

Funding straight from the royal family AND the US Ambassador.

"Explosive" is an apt description.

Saudi Arabia is the very vortex of the jihad. We should kick their ass, take their gas, and tell them to walk a mile to mount a camel1

FROM YOUR KEYBOARD TO GOD'S EARS!!

This is a real find!! I don't usually agree with Graham...but I think he is ( and I hate to admit it) right-on target this time.

Heck, the Saudis are in this up to their eyeballs!! ROPMA!!

For the record, it says the money went through an account belonging to the wife of the Saudi Ambassador to the US, not the US Ambassador, which might confuse people who don't read the whole thing closely.

The princess is probably a naive dimwit, who thought she was actually helping someone in need. Someone probably connected her to this idea from Saudi...and she just kept doing it.

This story is being reported by "none less" than the NYT --among others. I sure hope I don't see any more of the Saudi Arabia infomercials on TV.

This is tough.. the Arab community has been paying "blackmail" to the Islamic Fundamentalists for decades - primarily to leave them alone - when I met with the Minister of Justice (privately) of Abu Dhabi in 1972 he stated that this was his administrations primary concern and how to counter it - I had no answer for him then how to counter this. (well I do now thanks to FR and Rush).. I offer no excuses for their actions' just the point that there are nut-cakes in every society - the rulers want stability - to continue their rule and profits - to demonize them all is inappropriate.

I have no respect for extremists but tolerance for those who bow down to God several times a day - there are some good Muslims out there - cut them some slack - we have our Rudolphs and other God fearing Christian killers not to mention Tim.

I'm going out to get some air - rant off!

This is why, even though Iraq has agreed to let in the arms inspectors, the US is asking for allies to attack Iraq.

They know of the Saudi connection and had tried to keep raps on it, until they can control the Iraqi oil, then and only then can they sort out the Saudi problem. They can and will undermine the the Saudi Royal Family, I am sure they have enough evidence, if not they will make it up. They probably have government in waiting already lined up.

The next two years in Middle East History are going to be very very interesting.

I thought of these explanations:

The persons receiving the money might be members of the 6,000 strong Saudi royalty - no one has all their names. Even a hijacker or two might be a royal.

A Saudi woman with full control of her account is unlikely. Perhaps the secret "International Jihad" department of the Saudi security services were using this account, a little too laxly perhaps. Kind of like a "Black Ops" operation at work.

"The Arab community has been paying "blackmail" to the Islamic Fundamentalists for decades "

.

Is it blackmail, or is that just the cover story given when discovered by the West?

Blackmail from the '70s or before - the UAE and others do not want their countries going the way of Iran and they are mindfull of it.

The wife of Prince Bandar, the same one sitting one the armrest of the comfy chair at Crawford in that picture with Bush.

A slim possibility that she was doing it behind his back, but highly unlikely.

Are you smiling and grinning as much as i am?

Oh i'm sure our- my happiness is shortlived.

Next the Saudis are going to say the account was "hijacked" by the jihadis and that the transfers occurred without the knowledge of the prince or the wife. Especially since it was Bandar's wife's account.

You don't like Putin, or are you suggesting that this release was some kind of representation timed to show Saudi that we are seeking new "friends," or something else??
