"he audience was audibly shocked at the appearance of lead singer Debra Iyall, because of her large size and she seemed to have sense it....." from some webpage I googled with Debra Iyall's name in it.
Also found that she was doing stuff for fatso! mag....

One of our former FReepers was a relative of the late Dennis Dannell. She posted a thread about him when he passed away.

However, I love Tammy, and Tammy & George together were the best. In fact, I would say they were the Sid and Nancy of their time :), really. :)
I know Tammy Wynette & The Possum, but who are Sid & Nancy?
(You're not gonna get Bella after me are ya?)

It's not like any of these people every really had sterling character anyway, right? If so they would of gotten real jobs. :-)

Oh sad :(
While looking up who Dennis was (he was the lead guitarist for Social Distortion for those who didn't know)....
I found this link:
http://elvispelvis.com/fullerup.htm
That's the dead musicians directory. Dennis is listed there, with a pic (nice looking!). Too bad...so many punx gone!

Can't forget to include the late
Wendy O. Williams of the
Plasmatics as a pioneering Woman of Rock.
Joan Jett seems patriotic enough, given her shows in Afghanistan. Met her a couple of times after New York Liberty basketball games, but I can't speak to her politics.
The hardcore WNBA fans lean toward the Left though.

While I don't dig Green Day, I miss the days when you could turn to a place on the dial and couldn't tell for sure what was going to be played.
And the days when you could tune in a rock station and hear music rather than "titties and farts" talk interspersed with a few tunes. People like Rush et.al. got it right with R&R bumper music, If anyone ever figures out to put a conservative DJ on an FM station who plays ~80+% music with some conservative commentary it might get interesting

I still love L7--the scariest chick-band ever.

Hmmm, where do I begin?!
Sid Vicious, was in the Sex Pistols, and Nancy Spungeon, his Jewish bottle blonde stripper groupie girlfriend (and very bad news for Sid).
They lived life on the edge, with loads of cash, kind of like Tammy and George did.
That's why I think they're similar. George had liquor, Sid and Nancy, like Kurt and Courtney later, heroin.
Can you say major destructive relationship, yet it was great drama to read about?
Anyways, Sid DID kill Nancy, then killed himself. They'd had a double suicide pact.
Kurt killed himself.
Tammy and George never got over each other, but moved on to other people after George took a gun and tried to kill Tammy.
So much DRAMA! Great to read about, but thank goodness we live in different times. Dramatic relationships are too much!

Thatnks for filling jla in, ILMH. I passed out momentarily. ;-)

You see similarities too? I've always thought there were. You know, the dirt poor background....and the very dramatic crazy ways.
Heck, even the way Tammy died was crazy!
And that no-good manager husband of hers...I just don't know what to say. He's married again. There goes Tammy's money.

Some have speculated that Sid DIDN'T kill Nancy--there was a gathering of musicians in their hotel room that night and they claimed that there was a very creepy drug dealer in the room with them (nobody knew the guy's name). The party moved on and Sid and Nancy stayed at their hotel room with the drug dealer. There was some speculation that Nancy may have caught this guy ripping them off, confronted him and taken a knife in the stomach for this. Sid was zonked on heroin the entire night, according to the friends.
Of course, maybe they were covering for Sid. We'll never know.
"I dreamed we had a dog. It was really little, but we loved it. And then it got sick, and it died. But we loved it so we didn't want to have to get rid of it. So...we ate it." (From the movie 'Sid and Nancy', with two of the best cinematic performances ever, provided by Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb.)
