Right after 9/11 I tried to get back in the Navy and then join the Oregon National Guard.
Both said I was too old.
Then I read hedgetrimmer's thread on joing the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
And the rest is history!

Congratulations! Sounds like a wonderful assignment. I loved my short-lived (2 year) stint w/ the USCGA, and miss being out on the water. Way to go! :)
