Whoops! More than you meant to say, wasn't it Jeffords?
Jeffords is a liberal. And he still does not get it. He is a Daschle clone. He thinks the republicans read on the midterms is rejection of moderation! Sorry jumping Jim! On the contraire. The republicans read it for what it was. Clear rejection of the failed agenda of the democratic party. Clear rejection of the party of lies and deception. Clear rejection of the party of personal destruction. And clear rejection of those party leaders that took them down a path of self destruction. And still you cry, whine, moan and complain. America said "NO" to Daschle, Gephardt, Clintoon, Jeffords and all the other socialists who have no agenda for America and no idea how to protect us. Get over it!
No Mr. Turncoat you're disgraceful! You would pour our money into endless sink holes that do not work and have not worked properly for 20 years. You probably would not let parents have a CHOICE where they send there children for a quality education you just want to TAKE our money and SPEND it as YOU see fit just like a liberal elitist that thinks he knows better!
I still see you don't have a clue why your counterparty got bitchslapped in this last election...
Get a clue and go away!!!
WTH am I doing up so early! I am so cranky at this hour in the morning!
Does he mean GDP? If he does, that actually has kept pace quite nicely. If he doesn't, what does he mean by economic growth? And more importantly, what are his remedies?
It's no suprise the NY Times printed this article. It did not advocate an alternative, it was simply a hit piece on GWB. Contrast this with op-ed pieces from the "unbiased" ecomomists (ex. Krugman) who regurgitated DNC talking points during the Clinton years and you see yet again another example of liberal bias at the NYT.
Think how much earlier this would have happened,
if Benedict Jeffords had dropped off the map.
He's a moderate, my A$$!
The essay must required when playing the phonycs game.
Really Jim. That's an outright lie.
In less than two years, more than two million private sector jobs have been lost,
And he won't tell you haw many are gained in other sectors because than it would not seem nearly as terrible.
while our economic growth is the weakest it has been in 50 years.
Translation; The economy is growing but slower that it has in the past.
The Census Bureau's recent income and poverty report stated that 1.3 million Americans slipped below the poverty line in the last year. This increase means that 11.7 percent of the United States population is living in poverty.
Only in the land of government idiocy. Two color TV's and a car in the garage is hardly poverty. If more that 2% of the US population is genuinely living in poverty, I'll personally campaign for Jumping Jim.
Coal plants in the Midwest continue to spew toxic pollutants into the air, yet the administration does not see the wisdom in regulating these emissions, preferring to rely on the good-faith efforts of plant owners to police themselves. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people are dying prematurely every year from such pollution.
More BS. The only thing dying is your ability to garner federal funds because of pollution in your and local states. It's easy to blame it on the Midwest.
The lack of funding for our schools is disgraceful. Of the major industrial nations, the United States ranks among the lowest in terms of financing education at the federal level, providing only 7 percent of the cost
Where in the Constitution is the federal funding of school enumerated? Notice how he talks of federal funding as if all the state and local funding doesn't exist.
The only thing disgraceful is you Jumping Jim. You're a loser, so get over it.
Jeffords is a traitorous psychotic nut case, who's career in the Senate is dead.
Nobody trusts him , he probably has less influence than any other Senator, and he's not fooling ayone with the "Independent" label.
One question, if the Democrats had an answer to the problems you described, why haven't they been solved yet?
The answer is is the federal government can do little for most of the problems you described except get out of the way, remove regulations, cut taxes, and let local people solve their own problems.
An amazing attempt to mislead. How many other nations have federalism as a form of government? Is money sent from the Federal government somehow worth more than the green backs sent from the State governments?
Jeffords, you may fool some, but not us.
Uh... yeah, right.
Apparently Jeffords has not seen the three story brick and glass school buildings going up around Michigan. Neither is he aware how much money teachers make nowdays.
