(My first "vanity" this year.) About the time of the Patriots Rally II, I read on a FreeRepublic thread that Ramsey Clark represented (either as a PR agent or attorney) either or both of Hussein and Iraq. Can someone who either has a better memory than I, or is better at FR research than I, please let me know the mainstream media reference that provided this information?
This is for my latest column, which will go on UPI. Assistance will be gratefully received. (I already have references for Clark representing as an attorney the Hutus in Rwanada, Milosevic in Yugoslavia, and Arafat & the PLO in Palestine.)
Thank you very much.

Neets and Dales worked on that information, among others, but those are the two I remember. There were several threads on Ramsey Clark, all posted about same time, when there were going to be big anti-WTO demonstrations in DC.
I have flagged both of them to see if they happen to recall. Most of the information I remember came from web sites of the different factions participating in the demonstrations.

I saved some links I found on Ramsey Clark and this letter that he wrote to Kofi Annan might be of interest.

WorldnetdailySock puppet for Saddam?
The founder of the IAC and director for A.N.S.W.E.R. is Ramsey Clark, who is introduced at IAC rallies as the former attorney general under the Lyndon Johnson administration. No mention is made of the fact that Clark, in his current occupation, has been retained by the State of Iraq to serve as legal counsel for the regime.

No "new" information, but reading the letter quoted below yielded this "interesting" quote:
"Attacks against nuclear, biological, or chemical plants and other inherently dangerous facilities violate international law because they expose civilian populations to death and injury. "
This, in Ramsey's eyes, although Saddam HAS nuclear weapons, biological weapons, and chemical weapons.... and although he HAS used two out of three of these agents against his own people, and against his local enemies, it is wrong to attack Saddam's warehouiese because (Iraqi) civilians "might" be killed by the bombing.
The fact that potentially millions of innocent Amerixans, Isreali, or British civilians "might" be killed in Saddam's nuclear attack is meaningless.
Clark doesn't care about those deaths.

Thank you to all who responded to this thread: In writing for myself I can be more casual in my references. But in writing for UPI I have to be more strict. So I have revised my article to say that Clark "represented Iraq before the U.N." but dropped the word "paid." It is a bit debilitating that the UPI -- for its own protection -- doesn't want factual assertions made unless they've found their way into the mainstream media.
Again, thanks for the expertise of FReepers.

This is too late, but FWIW, I did find a piece by Michael Tremoglie at Frontpage.com that states:
"both Serbia and Iraq have retained Clark as their U.S. counsel"
