I believe Christians sometimes ask the question "Will I see my dog in Heaven?" and sometimes "Is there sex in Heaven?" Answers to these questions (as far as I know) are unclear. But there is the possibility that sex is part of our animal nature and we will have no such need or desire in Heaven. But the Moslems see Heaven as one long orgy for those who commit suicide. Hmmmm. Which religion appeals to that which is highest in Mankind?

In its authoritarian manifestation, every creed tries to take sex away from people, confining them to furtive, agonized breeding. Every sexual pleasure, desire or thought is supposed to make you ashamed, guilty, and in need of immediate absolution. It also makes you hate those who elicit your desire -- women.

To relieve the shame and guilt, the prelates of the creed introduce a scapegoat it's okay to hate, sometimes even to kill. The Muslims hate their womenfolk -- witness the brutalization of women in Islamic nations, and the proliferation of catamites to older men -- but obviously can't just kill them. No, for that they have the Jews, plus any other "infidel" unlucky enough to be around when the tension peaks.

Of course, one of the other inconvenient problems is that men and women exist in about the same proportions in nature. A social structure such as Islam that permits the powerful or well-off to have several wives - and then segregates women to make them unavailable in any other way but as wives - means that many men will never have women, will never marry, will never have families or progeny.

Everything, except perhaps for the furtive buggery for which Muslims are famed, has therefore got to wait until after the suicide bombing, because they sure aren't going to get any in the here and now!
