Ediors of the New York Times killed a column by Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Anderson that disagreed with an editorial about Tiger Woods and Augusta National's refusal to admit women as members.
A column by sportswriter Harvey Araton was also zapped, sources said, because it differed with the papers editorial opinion about the golf club standoff.
The moves came amid extensive coverage of the exclusive Georgia club under former editorial page editor Howell Raines, who has called for high impact stories since becoming executive editor last year.

The New York Times is very publicly blowing up its reputation (which it never deserved in the first place) over a meaningless little issue.

NY Times is flogging this issue just so they can pat themselves on the back when Augusta relents and a woman is admitted. The Times even put a front page "teaser" on regarding the Thomas Wylan resignation.
Their behavior alone makes me support Hootie.

The New York Times credibility as a balanced news paper was lost long ago. This episode just allows those who haven't paid attention realize what a left wing rag it is.

On the New York Times' op-ed pages, only opinion that marches in lock step with the Mullah Howell Raines' vision is seen as fit to appear in print.

And if other New York papers are reporting on it...
Quite frankly, the New York Times is going to be in serious trouble over that. VERY serious. If this keeps getting out...

The New York Times is not a newspaper. It is a left-wing tabloid.

NY Times--We decide, you bend over and take it. Nah, that's too much of a ripoff of Fox News. How about a minor change to their own 'All the news that's fit to print' motto:
All the news that fits our views.

WAIT A MINUTE -
Please do NOT allow our fuzzy wemyn and NYT neo-Stalinist buddies to Slanderously frame this argument as a 'feminist' issue when it is properly defined as clearly a racist attempt by the New York Times to prevent Tiger Woods from participating in the Master's tournament solely because he describes himself as 'non-white'.
I could really use some help down here in the language war. Realistically, however, I am waiting for the gentlemen and ladies in the debating society to quietly smile and politely wait their turn until they are blind-sided and black-jacked by the jackbooted National Socialist dykes who are surely waiting for them.
We need to define the argument repeatedly and unambiguously.
A rat is a dog is a pig is a feminist (...with profound apologies to rats, dogs and pigs...).

The New York Times should do an article on why Tiger played the race card when he came into golf with those Nike ads 'There are some courses, I cannot play in this country because of the color of my skin'
And now Tiger has no opinion on Augusta...

All the news that fits our views. That's great! With the growing amount of scrutiny the Times is getting of late for its ever-more-obvious bias, I'm wondering whether some of its more principled employees (there must be some) might start using other media outlets to get the story out. This could prove interesting indeed!

Speaking of race cards, since Jesse Jackson is going to boycott the Masters, does that mean that we can all attend and not worry about being shaken down?

This is the paper that found it necessary to print one frame from a RNC ad three days in a row. Rats to them.
