It kinda reminds me of Bill Clinton bemoaning his fate to Al Gore ... Nobody loves me.. Nobody understands me.. That Nasty VRWC

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is the best Christmas special by far... the ONLY one to mention the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of the Christ child. I'm surprised the ACLU hasn't tried to get it banned from network TV !

I agree completely.

Next year, will ABC put it on before or after their new gay detective series?

Don't give 'em any ideas....

I have the soundtrack of the show playing at my desk as we speak! One of the best jazz albums I have ever heard!

You really ought to pick up
Linus and Lucy: The Music of Vince Guaraldi by George Winston. I love this album. Many of the songs are familiar from the Peanuts specials, along with a handful of other Guaraldi songs, such as "Cast Your Fate to the Wind". I also recently picked up George Winston's tribute to The Doors. I know it sounds strange, a solo piano tribute to The Doors, but I thought he did a fantastic job.

I absolutely love this cartoon; it has been part of our family Christmas tradition for all of my life (born in 1964, the same year this cartoon came out).
Now, I have this on both VHS and DVD, and have had it for years, but for some reason it means more to me when I watch it during the 'real' network broadcast. I really do not understand why, but my nephew who just turned 18 told me the exact same thing last weekend when we were playing the DVD for some of the family rugrats.

I'm 49, and every year the Chritsmas season starts with A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. Dittos on the Vince Guaraldi Trio and George Winston's CD. They all come out this time of year.

My kids have been watching this every day for the past month, but I'm still looking forward to watching it on network tv. I miss the Dolly Madison commercials. =)

I absolutely agree that this is a great album. I almost can't wait for Christmas time to play it. The album has such feeling, Vince G. is the man!

Didn't know it was on DVD.
Not sure if it is...I burned a copy onto DVD format from my LD player.
Wasn't about to wait around like I had to for "UHF" to go to DVD....

There is a great Rankin/Bass Christmas special called "Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey", about a little donkey with extremely long ears. He is made fun of but goes on to be the donkey to carry Mary in the flight out of Egypt. It was not on for years but it was on a couple of evenings ago, on ABCFamily channel.

Don't let Ted Turner buy the rights or we'll never see it again.

Lights please.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
