Former CNN Reporter Joins Kerry Presidential Effort (To Act As Handler To Rein In Mrs. Heinz)
Media Research Center ^ | December 4, 2002 | Brent Baker

Three months before CNN political analyst Bill Schneider praised Senator John Kerry’s “intelligence,” Washington-based CNN political reporter Chris Black joined the effort to elect Kerry President by becoming Communications Director for the Heinz Foundation headed by Kerry’s wife, Teresa, the widow of the late Pennsylvania Senator John Heinz.

Black was hired to “rein in Teresa” after an embarrassing, very un-First Lady-like interview with the Washington Post, the New York Daily News reported in August. (This item has been in my pending file for awhile and today I finally found a hook for it.)

George Rush and Joanna Molloy reported in the August 22 New York Daily News:
“Teresa Heinz, the multimillionaire wife of Sen. John Kerry, is getting a top media handler to help with her image, sources confirmed yesterday.
“The condiment heiress caused her husband to fidget and sigh during a June interview with The Washington Post in which she raged against Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and mimicked Kerry having a Vietnam nightmare.
“That may be why the Heinz Foundation has just hired former CNN White House correspondent Chris Black. According to one source, Black had been wooed for months to help 'rein in Teresa,’ in anticipation of Kerry's expected run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004....”

Following many years as a Washington correspondent for the Boston Globe, Black jumped to CNN in late 1999 and remained at CNN through the end of the Clinton presidency in January of 2001.

To refresh your memory of who she is, you can see a picture of her on this old CNN Web page that I tracked down through Google: http://www.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/11/27/black.debrief/

Maybe if we just deleted the Internet, these nasty little corpses wouldn't float to the surface periodically.

Not that it hasn't been tried...

"Kerry had better be careful, or he might find himself in an unfortunate accident with Mrs. Heinz moving on to the next available wealthy senator..."

A very good idea. How about Senator John Warner of Virginia. He has already married a Mellon Heiress (from Pittsburgh)and the ancient beauty Elizabeth Taylor. Why not a pickle potentate? It couldn't possibly worsen his visage if he sucked on sour pickles.(I confess, I am a Virginian)

Even though "Gentleman John" is moneyed and has a great farm in Middleburg, it is all due to the Mellon divorce settlement. Most observers know how certain elements of the Pittsburgh Mellon Family and the Heinz family despise each other. Big Jawn, as MudBoySlim calls him, and the widder Heinz would make a dashing..., wait,,,a limping couple. Just imagine the opportunities to overtake Bob Dole in the Viagra sweepstakes.

""presidentail" Heh heh...did you do that on purpose?

A Freudian, yet understandible slip on my part. I had just read Howie Carr on gigilo Kerry's adventures over the years:

"Here's another Liveshot (Kerry's sordid nickname) story, told to me by a major Boston nightclub owner who had a luscious young galpal. One night, they're all getting down, and among the guests is a four-sheets-to-the-wind Liveshot. The girl, who's up on current events, starts tearing into Kerry for his weathervane-like voting record, telling him he needs to make a ``commitment.''

``Baby,'' he finally says, swaying ever so slightly in the breeze, ``I am ready right now to make a commitment. To you.''

Was this before or after he became Mr. Teresa Heinz?

"If Kerry wants her bucks, he's going to have to pretend that he values her political opinions."

Tony Blankley ended his column today by observing that every time John Kerry goes to bed with his wife it's a fund raising event. LOL!

I had a run in with Chris Black the next day or so when I mentioned that I had heard what she said to the protester and wrote a report about it. My report was picked up on Capitol Hill Blue with some reaction from one of the tourists who witnessed Chris Black and Doctor Raoul. I can't seem to find the thread just now, but will look for it later.

ROTFLMAO. And who's the 'ho in this lovely relationship? Kerry was a man'ho before Heinz' 57 varieties. One wonders about Kerry's commitment to the widder Heinz, once she serves his purposes (read money).

I wonder how long it will be before the Kerry people grab Mrs. Heinz and give her a tranquilizer shot in the butt ala Martha Mitchell?

Wasn't she also at Cheney's House? As the camera lights would go on to do a live stand-up for CNN, the Doctor would start a cheer, "She's standing on a box! She's standig on a box!" Maybe it was one of CNN's other bimbos?

How fitting for a former CNN staffer to slither into a democrat campaign effort. Just like butter on bread.

Chris Black screamed "F--k You" at me from the White House lawn (on a Sunday, in front of kids) some time back around June of 1999.

Doug Thompson of CapitolHillBlue.com learned of it from a woman who witnessed it and started his own journalistic inquiry and got some swell quotes from other members of the White House Press Corps.

The day aafter, Angelwood commented through the fence to Chris about her behavior and Chris' first words were, "Let me tell you what that son of a bitch did to me!" And for 15 minutes it was "son of a bitch this" and "son of a bitch that".

"She's standing on a box" started at the White House. AGreatPer and I were chanting and I decided to lighten the mood a bit with a nonsense cheer. I tell him, "Let's chant 'She's standing on a box.'" He looks at me kind of puzzled and says, "What?" and I say, "Trust me on this."

So off we go. Campbell Brown of MSNBC and some young woman from CNN are both doing live reports standing on boxes. The CNN gal starts laughing after she's off. Campbell Brown throws down her clipboard when done, rips the earpiece out of her ear and stomps off. I swear there had to be little footprints embossed in the asphalt of the driveway.

We brought that out of storage at the VP's residence when again they were standing on boxes. It really freaked out the Gorons when we'd chant that, as if we weren't taking things seriously enough for theem.

LOL! I can just picture Chris Black and Mrs. Heinz screaming that at each other in the near future when Ms. Black attempts to "handle" the uncontrollable Mrs. Heinz. After watching that performance, it will be impossible to tell who the crazy one really is. Actually it is both of them.

Doug Thompson of CapitolHillBlue.com learned of it from a woman who witnessed it and started his own journalistic inquiry and got some swell quotes from other members of the White House Press Corps.

If you find those quotes, please post them here.
