As I understood it, he never graduated from seminary school. Why does anyone still cal him "reverened?"
Ah, because he LIKES it, right? Okay then, fellow freepers, please, from now on, only refer to me as His Holiness, Demosthenes, Ph.D., Esq.
My pompous titles are just as valid as his, if not moreso.

OK, Your Holiness, where do we sign up to get on your beneficiary list of those who will reap the rewards of your extorting money from those evil, capatilistic corporations. BTW, what oppressed minority do we belong to? We should be able to come up with something. What's our cut and how much do we kickback?

One can be ordained as a "reverend" by any denomination. He does not need formal education for the designation. I think Bill Moyers is also a "reverend."

Why does anyone still cal him "reverened?"It's simply semantics like the potatoe/potato thing--but speaking as a self-proclaimed authority on the matter, his correct title is the 'Revrearend' Jackson.

Don't know what kind of "Rev" Jesse Jackson is, but in the Great State of Ohio you can submit a cetificate from any mail-order or matchbook-cover "seminary" to the Secretary of State and get official recognition as a minister/reverend, whatever.
You can perform weddings and probably exploit some of the many tax breaks that preachers get, if you can gin up a "church" of some kind to employ you.
