“Nelson Mandela’s Legacy” [Africa Ping]
On the Right Side ^ | George V. Caylor

Posted on 12/08/2002 10:21:39 AM PST by Arthur Wildfire! March

Two weeks ago we discussed my 1985 trip to Africa, and my observations of chaos in the making.

In 1985 I took my Dad Glenn Caylor with me on an extended safari into the African “bush”. We were hunting some really big game including the Namibian Eland which weighs over a ton and can jump over a ten foot fence - easily.

One night we were driving back from hunting on the Botswana border and had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. Americans can hardly fathom the term “nowhere” unless they’ve traveled the Outback of Australia or the Kalahari Desert.

Our guide Hennie Koetse’s flashlight was broken so we had to build a small fire to light our work. Our stop and the fire made me nervous because we had been informed earlier that the communist African National Congress (ANC) had been in the area attacking farms and killing farmers. The Republic of South Africa sent in an anti-guerilla unit to ‘suppress’ the violence. The action was fairly close to us and I could imagine myself in some communist guerilla’s crosshairs. Obviously we made it through the night with no casualties.

Most of us have heard of the African National Congress and its most famous member, Nelson Mandela. He was one of the founders of the ANC and was an avowed communist. Mandela was sentenced to life in prison for murdering a policeman and several black magistrates.

Under pressure from America, Nelson Mandela was released from his life sentence. He was then immediately elected as Republic of South Africa’s president.

While Mandela was in prison, he exerted a great deal of power and influence over the affairs of RSA. His wife Winnie was a communist agitator who instigated the torture deaths of dozens of blacks who did not want to be communists. Her most common death-by-torture device was the “necklace” which I won’t describe. It’s just too barbaric. Winnie, however, became the darling of the American press and graced our television sets nightly with her rhetoric. Due to her communist leanings, our press overlooked and forgave her little torture hobby.

How has Republic of South Africa fared since it elected Nelson Mandela as its leader? According to our own Jesse Jackson, South Africa is now “an international role model of what can be. Truly a Utopia. A miracle.”

Before we look at South Africa today, we need to remember that this country once had the lowest crime statistics, the highest employment and one of the best health care systems in the world. Blacks from black-governed neighboring countries crossed into “white racist” South Africa by the millions. When I was there, doctors made routine cost-free visits to everyone’s homes. The economy was strong, people were well-fed, healthy and safe.

Let’s take a look at Mandela’s new so-called “miracle” and see if it holds water.

“The culture of South Africa has become so deformed that we no longer have respect for the rights of others. No state on earth has failed as dismally as ours to meet the fundamental test of any civilization: to enforce law and order, to protect the lives and property of its citizens.” - Police Commissioner George Fivaz.

The problem was ANC’s new laws that protected the rights of everyone but law-abiding citizens. Over 20,000 of South Africa’s most highly trained policemen and women resigned or took early retirement from the force. This left a gap that criminals soon exploited. (Sound familiar?)

Another problem is with the ANC’s new justice department. Of every 109 murders, only nine result in a prison sentence. In other words, you can literally get away with murder 90% of the time.

South Africa is now the “rape capital” of the world - more than double the rate of any other country. Rape cases are seldom, if ever, prosecuted. Black women suffer in silence and their rapes are no longer even reported.

One in three black adults are infected with the AIDS virus. This will leave the country decimated much the same way as neighboring Kenya and Uganda where entire villages are comprised of only the very young and the very old. Their inhabitants of sexual activity age are dead.

I have two friends working as missionaries to those villages. They are building orphanages, clothing the children, and teaching them to survive. The working adults are simply no longer there.

Finally, unemployment has risen to nearly 50%. Of course, blacks now have the vote. And in every election, their black leaders tell them how to vote. Not exactly the freedom promised by Mandela. Jesse Jackson had it wrong. The “new” South Africa doesn’t sound quite like paradise to me. But maybe it is to him.

I know, because my extended family lives in South Africa. I know, because some members of this family, knew Nelson VERY well. I know, for a fact, that what you write and imply, is not only baselss codswallop, but inflammatory propaganda, and that YOU don't know anything about South Africa, Apartheid, nor Nelson Mandela.

W-R-O-N-G !

Not only did whites and Afrikaners in particular, give ALL people ( white, black, and colords ) an education, it was, even under Apartheid, far superior to that in the USA; except for the best private schools. Afrikaners saw to it that as many nonwhites were educated, as was humanly possible, including University ! It was Mandela's ridiculous incitements, which inflamed certain blacks to burn down schools, and for an entire generation of blacks, to stay out of school. Another thing, which you obviously don't know, besides all balck colleges, blacks were, under Apartheid, to attend white Universities. So put that in your blinkered mind, attempt to digest it, and stop talking nonsense.

You can't possibly equate American blacks, with those who live in Africa. Yes, there really still ARE " savages " there; educated or not.

You haven't a damned clue, boyo; not a one.

In your shoddy replies, you completely forget about the wealthy black ( Mandela's, for one ) and colored families, who utterly shoot your racist theories sky high. LOL

Mines and Works Amendment Act (1926): Africans not allowed to hold skilled jobs in the mines

1936: Blacks lost the right to vote

Reservation of Separate Amenities Act (1953): Government required separate amenities for different races

Bantu Education Act (1953): Established segregated education and blacks prevented from receiving education for jobs traditionally reserved for whites

Native Land Act (1913): Identified certain areas as African Reserves; blacks unable to purchase land in white areas (93% of land); blacks unable to live in white-owned areas and work as sharecroppers

Natives Resettlement Act (1954): Government permitted to forcibly remove blacks from land designated for whites (From 1960 to 1980, the government forcibly moved 3.5 million blacks from land designated for whites to reservations

Bantu Homelands Citizenship Act (1970): Defined blacks living throughout South Africa as legal citizens of the homelands designated for their ethnic groups and stripped blacks of South African citizenship and their remaining civil and political rights

Pass laws or “influx control”: Blacks violating law if they are in an urban area for more than seventy-two hours without having obtained special permission

Did you support apartheid?

You are a idiot you have no concept of life in Africa...its not the utopia you leftest think it is...apartheid is a Dutch name meaning apartness...Africans are bush people and have no concept of western culture the only way whites could survive was up until blacks could learn western values it was thought living apart was the best solution

If the white-minority government implemented apartheid to help the blacks, then why did they gradually take away all their political rights and eventually strip them of their citizenship?

If the white-minority government implemented apartheid to help the blacks, then why did they restrict the employment opportunities of the blacks to low-paying jobs in the mines and fields?

If the white-minority government implemented apartheid to help the blacks, then why did they forcibly relocate 3.5 million blacks?

If the white-minority government implemented apartheid to help the blacks, then why did they forcibly 70% of the population to (blacks) 15% of the most barren land?

As for life under Mandela as opposed to PW Botha blacks suffer more today than ever before many would welcome a return to law and order, liberals like you are fleeing the country and those that remain are either being killed or raped

First, I am not a liberal. I almost always vote a straight Republican ticket. Second, you could use your argument to justify a return to communism in Russia. Living conditions for the average Russian have declined since the fall of communism.

As for my "savage" remark maybe you would like to hear about a few things....and this is black on black crime.....at least under apartheid the only blacks that we killed were were communists...as Bush says "enemy combatants"

Violent acts committed by a minority of the black population.
Do you think that blacks are genetically inferior (less intelligent and more violent) to whites?

One more thing...words from the brothers you love so much

Three of the five quotes are not even from ANC leaders.

One last thing I have photos to prove my point ....do you?

I use logic and facts, rather than pictures of violent acts committed by a small number of blacks, to prove my argument.

You guys are trying to debate with a newbie who doesn't justify a response. He obviously has an agenda.

10-4 on has an agenda. I tagged him early on but he just kept coming back. However, I learned about the SA situation from other posters. I was watching the Tiger Woods Challenge while working the thread so didn't invest time in dealing with the newbie.

What a waste and revolting situation that SA is going down the tubes. Such unnecessary suffering and destruction.

American blacks speak english and in most cases don't buy into the power of witchdoctors

Speaking English and believing in witch doctors are not genetic traits.

Unless you have discovered a language or religious gene...

"Simple question -- Did you oppose apartheid?"

Sounds like you don't really know what "apartheid" is.
