How much history of South Africa do you know and how did you come about learning it?
I am hardly an idiot for assuming that someone who descibes himself as an African American is black. Prove me wrong and find a single official source that supports your personal self-identification as an African American.

Since you can not provide a genetic link for economic underdeveopment in Africa, perhaps a historical explanation might be more helpful. Clearly the colonial experience continues to impact African politics and economics.
One does not undo or reverse hundreds of years of colonial rule in one or twi generations.
