I should hope that this would have always been the case.

Anyone have any doubts that specific threats have been made?

US: Prepared to use nuclear weapons in response to any use of WMD Exactly the same warning was given to Iraq prior to Gukf War One.

Us Says Would Use 'All Options' Against WMD Attack
Tue December 10, 2002 06:22 PM ET WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reminded Iraq and other countries on Tuesday that it was prepared to use nuclear weapons if necessary to respond to an attack from weapons of mass destruction.
The warning, which underscored a longstanding U.S. policy leaving open the use of nuclear weapons if needed, was contained in a Bush administration statement of U.S. strategy against nuclear, chemical and biological weapons -- the first update since 1993.
The six-page strategy document says deterring attacks with the threat of "overwhelming force" is an essential element to protecting America and its allies from weapons of mass destruction, also known as WMD.
"The United States will continue to make clear that it reserves the right to respond with overwhelming force -- including through resort to all our options -- to the use of WMD against the United States, our forces abroad, and friends and allies," the strategy report said.
"In addition to our conventional and nuclear response and defense capabilities, our overall deterrent posture against WMD threats is reinforced by effective intelligence, surveillance, interdiction and domestic law enforcement capabilities," it said.

I'm hoping this is not in response to a specific threat not yet made public (i.e., "suitcase" nuke).

Does WMD include Hillary's mouth?
LOL!
Uh Oh...were gonna have to break out the nukes, she's opened her mouth again!!!

Actually, Iraq was implicitly promised with them in '91 by James Baker.

Wonder what intel caused this warning to be issued.

"Wasn't that always our policy?" Hmmmm...Under x42? who knows....best to make things VERY CLEAR....and I think this President does that.
To: Dog
Saddam's only option to survive is to do something to us NOW, first, before we hit him. He would have to do something so big that the USA and the UN would never dare to retaliate, or do ANYTHING, really...
