I just got a chuckle out of this sorry site and thought I might share it with you. Actually, there are some beautiful old ruins there, if you follow the links to historical tourism. Of course, there will be many more ruins to see soon.

That whole area really is rather interesting and would make a wonderful place for tourism. There are some very old arch. sites there, and the culture is very colorful and interesting. If that part of the world could be made safe again, it would be a great area for tourism. That is if there is anything left after the attacks.

I think in any war, old historical sites with no military relevancy should be considered OFF LIMITS. Just think of the information we could have if the library at Alexandria hadn't been destroyed.
