Good morning, everyone.

Yikes!! This is the next to the last weekend before Christmas!
I know everyone is busy shopping, baking, wrapping and
decking the halls, but I hope you will have time to take a break
and stop by and share a cup of nog or grog with us, or an Irish Coffee,
cappuccino, or some of MeeknMing's wonderful hot chocolate.

A BIG Finest "Thank You" to our brilliant and creative
'Guest Hostess Babe', FreeTheHostages, and her
always entertaining accomplice, Mudboy Slim.

Your GINGERBREAD HOUSE and
TOP TEN LIST contests were so much fun!!!

HO! HO! HO!
Have a great weekend!

If you would like to be added to, or removed from, the Finest thread ping list, FReepMail me. :-)

Good morning! LOL. "Accomplice." *Exactly.*

Thanks for letting us have too much fun and sorry if we got too silly! It was Mudboy's fault!! Friday's very sweet thread with SweetLiberty felt like deliciously normal again. I really enjoyed meeting her!

Well, no kidding, I've got to construct the gingerbread houses this morning. I made the bread last night, but the guests come at 10 a.m. EST, and the houses haven't been put up. So thanks for the tea and I'm off to let my friends decorate these structures and completely trash my living room while my cats nervously circle for falling frosting.

I say to myself: "Everything is under control."

In memory of my fellow Vietnam helicopter pilots who were killed in that war the following were lost on DEC 14th and 15th. God bless them all.

DEC 14

1963 MAJ James H. Allred (USA) -- 117 AHC, Age 38, Twin Falls, Idaho
1967 1LT Haron L. Brown II (USAR) -- 240 AHC, Age 24, Huntington, West Virginia
1967 WO1 William K. Clawson (USAR) -- 240 AHC, Age 24, Linden, Indiana
1970 WO1 Paul R. Brass (USAR) -- 326 MED 101 ABN, Age 21, St Charles, Illinois
1970 WO1 Randall G. Freeman (USAR) -- 326 MED 101 ABN, Age 22, Sac City, Iowa
1971 CW2 Otha L. Perry (USAR) -- 1 AVN BDE, Age 30, Detroit, Michigan (CW2 Perry's body was never recovered)

Tributes to WO1 Paul R. Brass and WO1 Randall G. Freeman : KIA, Thua Thien, South Vietnam.

Remembering a Friend
Paul was a family friend and an upperclassman of mine at Marmion Military Academy. He and his older brother Mike looked out for me when I first entered Marmion. I rode with him to school and he helped me to ADJUST to the Military way. He is never far from my thoughts, as he was a personable and caring guy. I will always remember him.
James Iding - Friend

A Countries Favorite Son, a Fine Man, and a Great Friend
Randy wasn't only my cousin, he was my best friend in school. Even at a young age, he seemed to always do the right things, was polite, caring and smart. I admired him even as young as I was. I lost track of him for some years, and accidently found out what happened to him from my 1st. cousin. He excelled at what ever he did, as a person and in everything he seemed to do. He is only one of many fine young men who fought and gave their lives for their country, but I am proud to have know him, and still miss him today. He is my hero, just one of the many, always remember.

Unit patch of the 326th Med Det.

DEC 15

1969 WO1 Dee A. Hyden (USAR) -- 176 AHC, Age 21, Amarillo, Texas
1969 1LT Don E. Stockton Jr. (USAR) -- 176 AHC, Age 24, Sherwood, Oregon

WO1 Hyden and 1Lt Stockton were killed along with 2 other crewmembers and a passenger when their UH-1 flare ship went inadvertent IFR at night and crashed. Two of the crewmembers (SP5 Donald R. Rose and SP5 Larry D. Keeler) were scheduled to go home the next day, but wanted one last flight before they left.

Loved your opening graphics and words. You are very talented.

BTW the cranky hostess babe is probably our dear Billie. She has been working on our Pet Christmas Card for days and days. Wants to get it perfect and her computer went down yesterday and she lost three hours of work. I hope everyone drops by on Tuesday to see this Pet Card and express apprecition to her. She is the best!!!

Cheers! What cute little Christmas baby hostesses! I've missed you all and the Finest threads and was just catching up on the charming Gingerbread Houses! What a wonderful season. This past week I was at dinners and Republican functions for three nights, then picked up my parents at the airport on Friday. They'd been in Palm Springs enjoying the sun, which is a good thing because it's raining Christmas cats and dogs here! (As you can imagine, the skiiers are estactic. After a long, warm Indian Summer and dry, crip autumn - they were beside themselves ;) All is well now, with rain drenching our evergreens on the lower elevationsm, and snow covering the higher mountainsides... Tomorrow night I'm taking my poarents to the Nutcracker at a beautiful old theater in Tacoma. Hopw you all have been well and enjoying holiday shopping, cooking, and decorating.
Christmas cheers everyone!
