WHAT TRENT MEANT TO SAY
by Mia T, 12.14.02
"I want to say this about my state (Mississippi): When bill clinton ran for president, we didn't vote for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either." |
|
Bill Clinton is pinning his hopes on Americans having incomplete memories. He wants us to remember the good times, associating the prosperity of the late 1990s with the handiwork of his Administration. However, the farther we move away from the days that Bill, Hillary and the whole gang of Clintonistas were in the White House, the more apparent the glaring deficiencies in his record become, particularly on national security.
It would be nice to think that Bill Clinton has finally come to recognize the true importance of national defense. But the question remains: Why was he AWOL so often on issues involving national defense during his presidency? Maybe it's because he was so busy taking trips at the expense of our armed forces when not fighting to save his own skin from an enraged Congress during his scandal-ridden presidency.
Some legacy, huh?

- Q ERTY6 utter failure BUMP!
- There is a great deal of interest in how history is going to view Bill Clinton...Our first indication from the public does little to suggest that Clinton's image has become more positive in the 14 months since he left office. Just 51% of Americans now say they approve of the job Clinton did while in office, and a substantial 47% say they disapprove (the second-highest disapproval rating, behind only Nixon's). This marks a drop from the higher ratings he was receiving as he left office, and a slight drop even from his overall two-term average.

-
- Someone--was it Maupassant?--
- once called history "that excitable and lying old lady."
- The same can be said of historians.
-
- Surely it can be said of Doris Kearns Goodwin,
- the archetypical pharisaical historian,
- not-so-latently clintonoid,
- Lieberman-Paradigmatic
- (i.e., clinton is an unfit president;
- therefore clinton must remain president),
- intellectually dishonest,
- (habitually doing what the Arthur Schlesingers of this world do:
- making history into the proof of their theories).
-
- The Forbids 400's argument is shamelessly spurious.
- They get all unhinged over the impeachment of clinton,
- claiming that it will
- "leave the presidency permanently disfigured and diminished,
- at the mercy as never before of the caprices of any Congress."
-
- Yet they dismiss the real and present--and future!!--danger

POSTSCRIPT:
- Weekly Standard writer Tucker Carlson has dubbed Princeton University historian Sean Wilentz "loser of the week" for his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee last week. The New York Times described his testimony as "gratuitously patronizing."
-
- "Why would Wilentz risk his reputation to join the already bulging ranks of Clinton throne-sniffers?" Mr. Carlson asked Marxist historian Eugene Genovese, who guesses that "the pressure of time and the passions of the moment" got to Mr. Wilentz.
-
- "As for why anyone would cite the Framers in defense of Clinton, Genovese seems baffled" Mr. Carlson wrote.
-
- Mr. Genovese told Mr. Carlson: "I come from a rather tough working-class neighborhood where attitudes toward women left a great deal to be desired. ... But if anybody had said in the local pool room" some of the things President Clinton reportedly did to Monica Lewinsky, "the attitude would have been, 'That's degenerate. You don't do that to a girl, not even a whore.' The idea that the United States of America, the supreme world power, would tolerate a man in office who is a palpable moral degenerate -- the Founding Fathers would have choked."

Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize
Bill Clinton may not be the worst president America has had, but surely he is the worst person to be president.*
-
---GEORGE WILL, Sleaze, the sequel
Had George Will written Sleaze, the sequel (the "sequel" is, of course, hillary) after 9-11-01, I suspect that he would have had to forgo the above conceit, as the doubt expressed in the setup phrase was, from that day forward, no longer operational.
Indeed, assessing the clinton presidency an abject failure is not inconsistent with commentary coming from the left, most recently the LA Times: "Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize."
When the clintons left office, I predicted that the country would eventually learn--sadly, the hard way--that this depraved, self-absorbed and inept pair had placed America (and the world) in mortal danger. But I was thinking years, not months.
It is very significant that hillary clinton didn't deny clinton culpability for the terrorism. (Meet the Press, 12-09-01), notwithstanding tired tactics (if you can't pass the buck, spread the blame) and chronic "KnowNothing Victim Clinton" self-exclusion.
If leftist pandering keeps the disenfranchized down in perpetuity, clinton pandering,("it's the economy, stupid"), kept the middle and upper classes wilfully ignorant for eight years.
And ironically, both results (leftist social policy and the clinton economy) are equally illusory, fraudulent. It is becoming increasingly clear that clinton covertly cooked the books even as he assiduously avoided essential actions that would have negatively impacted the economy--the ultimate source of his continued power--actions like, say, going after the terrorists.
It is critically important that hillary clinton fail in her grasp for power; read Peggy Noonan's little book, 'The Case Against Hillary Clinton' and Barbara Olson's two books; it is critical that the West de-clintonize, but that will be automatic once it is understood that the clintons risked civilization itself in order to gain and retain power.
It shouldn't take books, however, to see that a leader is a dangerous, self-absorbed sicko. People should be able to figure that out for themselves. The electorate must be taught to think, to reason. It must be able to spot spin, especially in this age of the electronic demagogue.
I am not hopeful. As Bertrand Russell noted, "Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so. "

Furthermore, the bargain that he and his wife call a marriage refutes the axiom that opposites attract. Rather, she, as much as he, perhaps even more so, incarnates Clintonism

---BTW, Sean Hannity misses the point when he attempts to justify retaining Lott by pointing to the racial double standard,---
I think you've got it backwards. I can't speak for Hannity but I would have no problem with Lott being punished even removed, if Byrd, , Sharpton, Jackson,m or Clinton or whomever on their side was dealt a similar punishment. The problem is far BIGGER than Lott, the dems are racebaiting everything they can racebait and they're being utterly hypocritical in doing so.
This cannot be allowed to be gotten away with. And it will only get worse until someone stands up and fights back.
---The double standard is rooted in entrenched perception...and in politics, perception is reality.--
Well its about time some work went into changing that relaity rather than cowering in the corner wishing it would all just go away.
Indeed this is what the very idea of conservatism is about. Do you sit around and be a victim of things (like racebaiting bullies)? or do you get up, take charge of your life and do something?
I know what my answer is, I'm a conservative.
To: republicman
I agree that the problem transcends trent lott. But I see it as two separate problems.
The larger one--the double standard--will require a lot of time and work to solve.
The other problem, a feckless, damaging and seemingly self-serving majority leader, can and must be rectified quickly. If it isn't, it will only serve to reinforce the entrenched (mis)perceptions that result in the double standard.

Mia, I'm wondering, I haven't heard the first mouthpiece ask Lott or even ask anyone in the republican party what he might have meant would have been different had Strom been elected! I am convinced gelatinous spine should be discarded like the detritus he is, but why in hackler's name hasn't someone bothered to ask lotty what he thought would have been avoided, what would have been different had Strom been elected. And that's what I find incredibly weak about the current republican leadership in the Congress, we've allowed the despotic democrats to frame the issue and beat the racism drum to a fevered pitch, when it is actually the democrats who've proven how racist they are by manipulating black voters with this trumped up extreme perspective on racism. Trent doesn't have enough backbone to be a dirty racist, he's just a segregationist at heart, and most black people are too. Just ask them if they want to live in and raise their kids in a predominantly white neighborhood! There was even a segment on 60 Minutes (I think it was) recently, in which upper middle class black professionals stated their preference for upper class black subdivisions around Atlanta, with few whites in those neighborhoods as a drawing feature. How quickly this nation's presstitutes change their stripes when called upon by their favored democrtas to diss a republican and sew racial distrust.

Wow, now I'm confused. Isn't what you wrote as what byrdbrain meant to say actually what he did say? Cheese and crackers, this gets more complicated with every racist spin the democrat race goons put on it! Now Jesse JAckasson's lesser mule is weighing in in racist fashion, baiting non-thinking blacks to hate, hate, hate. Wouldn't it be funny if the democrat effort to divide the blacks from the rest of the nation actually ended up dividing them from the despotic lyin' democrat party?!

- A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.

-

-
That was precisely what Byrd was saying...You could see that he realized that he had exposed his racism as the words rolled out of his racist mouth...and he tried--futilely--to backtrack. -
- Blacks are beginning to understand that the democrats are the true racists...and that the democrats are exploiting them. (at least, that was the case before Lott set us back a half century...)
-
- The question is only whether the blacks will decide to break from the democrat party before their shrinking numbers will cause the democrat party to effectively discard them as no longer useful...
-
- Enter Donna Brazile, With her favorite-son scheme, she is at once trying to undermine Sharpton who (in the minds of the racist democrats) apparently doesn't know his place-- while placating party blacks who are systematically overlooked for the highest office in the land by those selfsame racist democrats.
-
- Let us not forget who Donna Brazile worked for...
- "Low negro tolerance level" Gore, (the Cynthia McKinney (D) charge), who was sued for racial discrimination by his black secret service agents, whose nanny told of gore-family racism and inhumane treatment.
-
- Let us not forget the despicable clinton-clinton-Gore-DNC racist ad directed at poor, uneducated blacks:
-
- When you don't vote, you let another church explode.
- When you don't vote, you allow another cross to burn.
- When you don't vote, you let another assault wound a brother or sister.
- When you don't vote, you let the Republicans continue. . .
- Voting will change things for the better.
- On November 3rd, vote.
- Vote smart.
- Vote Democratic for Congress and the U.S. Senate.
-
-
- Perhaps the most repulsive characteristic of the clintons, Gore & the DNC is their easy exploitation of the most vulnerable among us. They are disgusting...

- clintonism and the theology of contempt
-
by Mia T
-
-
- Let us hope that the rabbi's question was merely rhetorical. . . Let us hope that Rabbi Potasnik, and by extension, New York Jews, are not as credulous and obsequious and passive as they appear. . .
-
- The simple answer to the rabbi's question is that the corrupt, self-serving, anti-Semitic, power-hungry harpy cannot be trusted.
-
- Weren't we to never forget?
-
-
- The Holocaust must remain, for Jew and gentile alike, a constant reminder that mass credulity and obsequiousness and passivity are necessary for the demagogue to prevail.
-
- To remember that six million Jews died in the Holocaust is to understand that centuries of anti-Semitic attitudes made this horror possible. We must ask ourselves what role our society played through the centuries that in any way contributed to the atmosphere that made such a genocide even thinkable.
-
- Which brings me to the clintons and clintonism. . .
-
- Senator Patrick Moynihan proffered one of the more incisive operant definitions of clintonism -- "defining deviancy down."
-
- Defining deviancy down, indeed.
- clintonism has made personal and public perversions, personal and public predations, not merely thinkable, not merely acceptable, but de rigueur. (Watch us spin.}
-
-

-
- clintonism is the theology of contempt. Not merely toward "F___ing Jew-bastards" or "lazy niggers" or "extra-chromosome right-wingers" but toward any of us whose ideas are different from those of the clintons, Gore, and their acolytes.
-
- So the real question to be answered is this:
- "What fair-minded, clear-thinking person would want to continue
with its theology of contempt? - What fair-minded, clear-thinking person would vote for
hillary clinton or Al Gore?"

McKinney Blasts Secret Service
August 31, 2000 Washington - Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), member of the International Relations Committee and Ranking Member of the International Operations and Human Rights Subcommittee, condemns US Secret Service for its "Jim Crow" practices. Responding to a report recently that a quota was placed on the number of black Secret Service officers who would protect Vice President Gore, Congresswoman McKinney mused that, by her observation, "Gore's 'Negro Tolerance Level' has never been too high. I've never known him to have more than one black person around him at any given time. I'm not shocked but I am certainly saddened by this revelation." A lawsuit filed on behalf of 250 black Secret Service Agents alleges that they have been systematically discriminated against, spent more time at low ranking job levels before being promoted, and were subject to more severe disciplinary action. They also contend that the agency rarely disciplined or corrected white agents who used racial slurs of committed other hostile acts. "The contempt white agents hold for black agents and black people in general is evident in the Good Ol' Boy's gatherings they frequently attend ." McKinney stated. "The 'N' word is very visible and audible at these gatherings and these racists thoughts are brought with them to work." Congresswoman McKinney added, "I'm not surprised, however, because I've personally been discriminated against at the White House by the very same people these Secret Service officers are complaining about." Since its beginning in 1865 the Secret Service has "permitted a racially hostile environment to exist," Special Agent Malcolm Landry said in a deposition distributed at a recent news conference. Agents from Alabama to California have complained about the uses of racial slurs, not only by white agents but by white agents in management or supervisory positions-- even while on special details protecting high ranking public officials, including President Clinton and Vice President Gore. "That these black officers had no response from Gore's staff is symptomatic of a larger problem. Gore would like these problems to just go away, but they'll never go away if they're not addressed." McKinney concluded. |

- Jewish Americans, like African-Americans, for the past 50 years or so have become the bedrock base of the Democratic coalition. And, just like the African-Americans, they have allowed themselves to be taken advantage of by the Democrat Party. The Jewish vote is taken for granted by Democrats running for office. The Jewish voters allow themselves to be monopolized by one party.

The Fran Lebowitz Method of
-
Auto-Disenfranchisement:
-
-
-
Forty-nine-year-old writer Fran Lebowitz was perturbed about Hillary Clinton's all-but-certain Senate run. She had already made up her mind to vote for Mrs. Clinton but, she said, she was still unhappy. "I feel it's a personal plot," she said. "I feel like she personally sat down and said, 'How could I possibly get Fran Lebowitz to vote for me? I have to run against Giuliani.'" Ms. Lebowitz wasn't finished. "I think she's a very poor role model for girls," she said. "I believe she's someone who decided at a young age that 'I want to be President, but I can't, because I'm a girl. So I'll marry the President.' I think that's so regressive." She paused for breath. "She's a poll-taker, she's a pulse-taker, she's not a leader. She doesn't really seem to have any ideas" And then she comes here and panders."
-
Meet the Smart New York Women Who Can't Stand Hillary Clinton -
The New York Observer, JANUARY 17, 2000 -

-
-
- Writer Fran Lebowitz's witless justification -- her famous bons mots notwithstanding -- for voting for
HILLARY! clinton, someone she regards with utter contempt, reveals the insidious process by which classes of voters become auto-disenfranchised. -
- The "Liberal Professional Woman" could not do more to render herself powerless than to adopt Lebowitz's reflexive groupthink and vote for this horrific, corrupt phony. Blind allegiance of this sort has already auto-disenfranchised blacks and homosexuals --and, to some extent, Jews. (The Democratic Party knows it need do nothing. . .and the Republican Party knows there is nothing it can do. . .to obtain the loyalty of these groups.)
-
- Groupthink, it should be understood, damages not only the group that practices it. Groupthink damages society as a whole. Indeed, it is precisely this sort of simplistic non-analysis that produced a lawless, rapist president, a lawless, co-rapist consort, a corrupted society, a confused, defiled, violent generation of children, an eviscerated national defense.
