It was 30 years ago, on January 22, 1973, that the U.S. Supreme Court, in its Roe v. Wade decision, guaranteed a woman's right to choose abortion. But now, states throughout the nation are passing laws that restrict abortion rights. We can never forget that preserving freedom requires constant effort.
In honor of the Roe anniversary, Planned Parenthood is sponsoring a contest: to celebrate 230 years of choice in an original piece of artwork or a poster. We hope you'll join our efforts to keep abortion legal and to celebrate the stories of women who have benefited from the Supreme Court decision.
Deadline: Entries must be received no later than December 13, 2002. The First Place winner will receive $800; Second Place, $350; Third Place, $150.
TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Extended News; Front Page News; News/Current Events; Philosophy
KEYWORDS: abortion; burningbabies; dismemberingbabies; plannedparenthood; pullingbabiesapart; roe

I can take no credit for the art - I just found it - din't create it. This is great. But I followed the links to the website you got this from and couldn't find a thing about those posters. It would be nice to find out who did them to ask permission to use them. I would like to post a few around this socialist hellhole I call home. (Not my house. Montpelier, VT)

The Grand Prize is the Pol Pot honorarium and an all expense paid vacation to the killing fields of Cambodia where you'll be presented with the human relic of your choice.

The author of the posters in post #5 replied to me in e-mail this morning and said
"Sure! Use them in any way you want. Don't bother giving me credit (no, really, please don't!): They were just something I threw together in photoshop for 'blog fodder and not really representative of my work in general."
If this was just 'throw together' work he must do some great stuff. I certainly liked them. The artwork may not have been much more than cut-and-paste but the creative thought brought about a powerful counter message to the PP poop.

Re #22: It's alive!

To kill the indvidual in your picture, as if it were an animal, is indeed a cruel act. And women have this done every day like they are having a wart removed. It's pathetic. VOTE to end abortion. Prayers are NOT working, because the Lord wants you to VOTE against it.
