How many of you heard that Beauprez won Colorado's 7th?

Posted on 12/14/2002 1:10:07 PM PST by No dems 2002

Just a quick point. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention, but somehow I missed until today the Bob Beauprez won the final recount of Colorado's 7th district. Did I just miss it, or was it so suppressed by the media, so as not to adversely affect the "big victory" the democrats supposedly had in Louisiana? I don't know about you guys, but I just get a nagging feeling that we would have heard a lot more about this if Feeley had won, as more "evidence" that the democrats "are back". Don't you think so?

For those of you who missed this one, here's the address:

The news was out there, but the media chose to go into ignore mode while they preened about Louisiana! And now, of course, they have other fish to fry.

Lott managed to overshadow it all.

What a great leader.

I think I heard it reported twice on ABC Radio news here on the big ABC radio station
in Los Angeles, KABC 790AM.

I doubt it was supressed (at least not actively).
I think it might have slide down the list of reportables as it didn't have
significant impact on the control of the House, where as most folks were interested
to see if the Republicans could pad their advantage with another Senator from Louisiana.

But don't kick yourself for asking the question.
The media needs watching like a hawk.

I don't think it was big news because recounts almost never change the results of a race.

Lemmeesee: is it news that the Press ignores Republican victories?

There was a close race in Wisconsin for State Senate--the recount was covered, with the Press doing its best to intimate that the Democrat's loss was merely a mathematical error.

It was NOT. The Republican won because he was pro-life (the Dem was OK but not solid); anti-tax (the Dem was OK but not solid) and PRO-GUN (the Dem was in left field on this issue.)

It came down to the NRA. We won.

It was about the third recount! Kinda anticlimactic at that point since most non dead-heads knew Beauprez had won anyway. Not that the 'outlets' went out of their way to keep the story reported, though. Feeley was their guy, of course.

I saw it, but then, I live in his district, and my wife, my daughter and I counted for about 3% of his winning margin.

By the way, the BIG UNTOLD STORY is this: The judge supposedly drew the district to be competitive. However, given the national trend toward the Republican party in the November election (a trend duplicated in Allard's several point win for the Senate here in Colorado), it appears to me that the judge really drew a distruct that would favor the democrats most of the time. Only because of the big trend toward the Republican party did B. win the seat.
