Have the convention is Mississippi!

Welcome to FR
A statement saying that your "large" donation and attendance at the convention hinges on a proper location and Cuba as second won't cut it either.

But, they want to widen the tent. Be more inclusive. I see more bloombergs in the future.

Mike Bloomberg is a liberal Democrat.
He ran for mayor as a Republican to avoid having to compete in a primary.

Baghdad would be my choice for the convention. Saddam (if he isn't toast by then) could be the emcee, Bill and Hill and Al and Tipper could come along to show their dedication to political diversity, and Uday could give Tipper a big wet sloppy kiss.

This rat will die a certain death to a true rat next election time.

Florida seems like an excellent choice. We had it in Philly last time. Move it around.
Besides, Bloomberg does not belong on the stage with us.

Have it in NY, but Bloomberg doesn't speak. Rudy can talk, but not Bloomberg.

I don't fall for your thread at all! I think its a ploy! In fact I am willing to bet on it. Why because I think you know NYC is the best place that we should have the convention which it is.

Agreed. New York is NOT a good choice.

2 yrs ago the GOP Convention was in Philly. At the time there was a liberal Democratic Mayor. I don't think the party bigwigs give a hoot who the Mayor is or what his policies are.
New York could use an economic boost by bringing in 30,000 big spending Repbublicans.
I might be a little partial toward NY, I wouldn't have to stay in a hotel for a wk, away from my family. Go NY

That's right! GOP back to New Or-leens, is what I say! Heck, that'd be a nice road trip for me!
To: qam1
You people are missing the bigger picture... New York offers the symbolism...THE FIREMEN...Rudy Giuliani...THE FIREMEN. Also it's a nice way to annoy the Democrats who are meeting in Boston because they didn't want to "share" New York with Bush and the GOP.

The have to choose between NYC, Florida and here in New Orleans.
As much as I'd love to go again. (Seeing Reagan was a lifetime thrill when the Convention was here last) I don't think they should come here either. When President Bush was here for Terrell, the new Democratic Mayor( who is a pretty good guy) didn't even greet him at the airport. I think it's unforgiveable for a Mayor of an American city to NOT greet the President when he visits, for whatever reason, party aside.
They'd probably be better off( and safer for the delegates) somewhere in Florida.

Good idea. For those of us who are members of our state Republican parties we need to tell our membership in our state central committees that New York is not the place. Why not Minnenapolis/St.Paul or Tampa. Better :P
