This piece gives me chills whenever I read it. I fear our emasculated leftist culture won't be able to sustain the will to fight evil which will make this a soon-to-be-fulfilled prophecy.

What are you worried about? We have more people who like to kill for fun than any country in the world. All we have to do is give themn a gun and point them in the right direction.

YOU KNOW THE REST, my friends. Though we rarely defeated the Americans on the battlefield, we were able to inflict such punishment that they were soon pleading for peace at any price. With their economy in ruins, their borders compromised, their people demoralized, and civil unrest everywhere, they could not continue. We had broken their will! They had no choice but to leave us with the lands we conquered and the valuable resources they contain.

This article lists some real vulnerabilities of the US, from the viewpoint of how our enemies may use our culture and technological sophistication against us. The downside for our enemies, though, is that if they overdo it, and keep producing terrorist casualties on US soil, that they will harden enough US hearts to the point where we may start considering the Carthage option.

The last group that tried to use brutal and savage total war on the American civil population was the American Plains Indians. They were able to take advantage of the US lack of troops on the frontier during the Civil War. Once the war was over, the US concentrated on the Indian problem. Payback was brutal. Islamic fanatics take heed to this part of US history. If Americans are brutualized, they can be very brutal. Ask the American Indians if you do not believe that.

This plan can only work if we have a weak commander in cheif who is afraid to use a few nukes on high impact targets, like Syria, Iran and than the threat if they don't stop, Mecca.

I think the decline began with the failure of the "buggy whip" industry.

Men, all this stuff you've heard about America not wanting to fight - wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and never will lose a war, because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.

Our strategy was to make warfare so psychologically costly that the Americans would lose their "will to win." To do so we freed ourselves from the decadent West's notions of legal and moral restraint.

The peoples will to fight is based on their morality, not their decadence. Our lack of legal and moral restraint is the cause of the problem. Americas strength is not based on the silicon chip but on the reliance on God the Creator. The first step to defeat an Army, a People, a Nation is to demoralize them. This is what Clintoon and party politics is for. Homosexuality, Adultery, greed, these are nuclear bombs on the morality of a People, on their willingness to fight. Diversity training, hyphenated Americans, Freedom from religion instead of the government mandated description of religion are all important milestones in the new war.

The Barbarians can only storm the city after Rome had decayed from within. You want to win this war, you must reverse the decay of Morality, repent and turn once again to God. Any other course is to let the barbarians inside the gate.

"I fear our emasculated leftist culture won't be able to sustain the will to fight evil which will make this a soon-to-be-fulfilled prophecy."

If conservatives allow the left to get back into power, this WILL be a soon-to-be-fulfilled prophecy.

Col. Dunlap must be one of the few people in America who has seen - and actually understood - the movie Apocalypse Now.

"Horror has a face...And you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends.... You have to have men who are moral...and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordal instincts to kill without feeling...without passion... without judgement." --- Col. Walter Kurtz

The late 20th and early 21st century saw the reemergence of what British historian John Keegan called " warrior" societies. Like us, they are "brought up to fight, think fighting honorable, and think killing in warfare glorious." A warrior in such societies, Keegan wrote, "prefers death to dishonor and kills without pity when he gets the chance." The Americans ignored a warning from one of their own, Maj. Ralph Peters, who wrote in 1994 that the "new warrior class already numbers in the millions." Peters wrote that:

"[America] will often face [warriors] who have acquired a taste for killing, who do not behave rationally according to our definition of rationality, who are capable of atrocities that challenge the descriptive powers of language, and who will sacrifice their own kind in order to survive."

With all due respect for the writer.
He appears to assume that America is no longer has a warrior mentality. In this IMO he is wrong. The same mistake has been made before by others and too late they realized their mistake.

"The true story is, junior officers and noncoms who had been college students two years before and had ROTC commissions pinned down at that sea wall and couldn't retreat, couldn't go back -- it was just chaos back behind them -- couldn't, as the plan called for, go up the draws. They were getting butchered where they were all the sea wall because the Germans had it all zeroed in with their mortars that were coming down on top of them. And, "Over here, Captain," "Over here, Lieutenant, over here." A sergeant looked at this situation and said, "The hell with this. If I'm going to get killed, I'm going to take some Germans with me." And he would call out, "Follow me," and up he would start. Hitler didn't believe this was ever possible. Hitler was certain that the soft, effeminate children of democracy could never become soldiers. Hitler was certain that the Nazi youth would always outfight the Boy Scouts, and Hitler was wrong.

The Boy Scouts took them on D-Day. Joe Dawson led Company G. He started off with 200 men. He got to the top of the bluff with 20 men, but he got to the top"
Stephen Ambrose to Brian Lamb C-Span

"I would not wish to fight the United States — either militarily, politically, or culturally. For every threat, our history teaches us that Americans offer not just a rejoinder, but the specter of a devastating answer of a magnitude almost inconceivable to those now chanting and threatening in the streets of the Middle East. Do they have any idea of what sort of dangerous people we really are? Do they understand the history of the names of those ships now off their coasts, like the USS Peleliu or Enterprise, or the pedigree of the 82nd or 101st Airborne?"
Victor Davis Hanson NRO 11/6/01

Couldn't find the John Keegan article online, but here is the bibliographic information, found in another article by Dunlap that uses the same quotation:

John Keegan, "The Warrior's Code of No Surrender," U.S. News & World Report, 23 January 1995, p. 47.

Here is the article by Peters:
