Check out GOA website for info on how Gibbon voted on gun issues. Enter 89027 for zip at: http://www.gunowners.org/cgv.htm

He voted against arming pilots and for mandatory jail time for self-defense as well as amnesty for illegals. I talked at length with one of his sweet-young-thing staff members who all but called me a racist for being against it. He's better than Reid, but not by much.

Gibbons, 2001 voting record

Key Votes
1 - No UN gun control
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) offered an amendment on July 18, 2001, to withdraw the United States from the U.N. Rep. Paul argued that this country should boycott the international gun control organization which is actively "taking guns away from civilians." The Paul provision would have amended the Commerce-Justice-State bill (H.R. 2500), and a vote in favor of his amendment is rated as a "+".

2 - FBI registration of gun owners
On July 18, 2001, Rep. James Moran (D-VA) offered an amendment to H.R. 2500 that would require the FBI to keep gun buyers' names for at least 90 days. The amendment failed by a vote of 268-161. A vote against this amendment is rated as a "+".

James Gibbons (R) + + 100%

Has he changed? Possibly and probably. With Bush wanting to give SS benefits to Mexicans , the whole republican Party has gone to Hell.
