So who is to blame , Governor?

There is also talk about laying off 7,000 State Employees.

Davis' earlier proposal on how to cut $10.2 billion of the shortfall drew fire from health-care advocates and educators. They'll never cut spending...these people are living in a bizarro fantasy world where government programs are endlessly funded through money grown on trees.

I said it before about CA and I'll say it again.
The only people that will be left standing in CA after another disastrous four years of Davis will be wealthy Hollywood liberals living in gated communities, businesses that support left-wing causes who will stay "for the good of their communities" and a huge population of illegal aliens, minorities, and unemployed working class whites fighting among themselves over the state poverty programs.

"That's a big (expletive) difference," fumed Senate Leader John Burton, D-San Francisco, the Legislature's most powerful and blunt-spoken member. That's funny coming from him, since he is the single biggest cause of the deficit.

"Every imaginable revenue (tax) option is out there, everything is on the table....As a veteran budget watcher, judging by the level of activity here with everybody trying to find every nickel, I think it is in excess of $30 billion." Typical comments from a snide, smarmy socialist. No company in their right state of mind would dare do business with CA.

I'm still here, unfortunately.

Ernest, I really feel sorry for you guys out there on the Left Coast. I'm wondering how Pubbies out there are feeling out there, mulling last month's results: is there relief that Simon didn't win? Your state's budget is so far out of whack that it's going to take several years of real pain to fix it.
Not that I'm totally opposed to pain, mind you. These deficits were the result of Democrat mismanagement and vote buying, with help from the RINOs. Let them reap what they have sown!
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
CA could make its deficit into a surplus by just closing its borders to illegals and deporting the ones living there back to Mexico. Its really sad to see how the Liberals and RINOS continualy support illegals at the expense of Americans. Won't be long now before Americans have had too much and start doing what the Politicians will not do.

Will somebody please buy Davis a copy of SimCity. He has gotten himself into one of those games that you just ain't ever going to turn around. Raise taxes and run off the taxpayers, cut services and the infrastructure goes to hell, borrow money and the interest payments kill you. It is time for the old godzilla monster to come in and start things over for you.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Davis could easily take care of the deficit by paying for it out his unspent campaign warchest.

CA could make its deficit into a surplus by just closing its borders to illegals and deporting the ones living there back to Mexico. Last time I checked, a state can not manage it's borders, that is a Federal job!

Among the options:Halt the constitutional guarantee for school funding by suspending Proposition 98, which voters approved 14 years ago.
Set up a split-roll property tax, leaving residential property taxes untouched while raising taxes on business property.
Raise "sin taxes" on alcohol, tobacco and candy, and shift the personal income tax brackets to boost taxes on the wealthy.
Raise the statewide sales tax by a half-cent, to raise up to $2 billion.
That's right, Davis....raise business taxes, income taxes, sales taxes, and even invent a few new taxes. But whatever you do, don't take one cent away from the ILLEGAL ALIENS.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
I still marvel at how well Davis and the California media managed to cover up the scope of the problem until after November 5.

And just to make more smiles here at FR- todays Los Angeles Daily News:
L.A. to dole out raises
Despite a looming budget crunch, the Los Angeles City Council agreed without public discussion Tuesday to award 4 percent pay raises -- nearly twice the rate of inflation -- to top managers and 9,000 other nonunion employees....[MORE]

"Last time I checked, a state can not manage it's borders, that is a Federal job!"Agreed, however the Dim currently in charge is the person responsible for letting these people stay in his state and funding all the programs geared towards illegals, if this idiot started enforcing the "Peoples will", can't remember the name of the prop. but wasn't there a proposition passed by the majority of people in CA. that cut off funding to illegals, and the current DIM nixed it?
Remember if the Feds are unwilling to enforce our nations laws then the Govenors have every right within their states to round up these illegals and hand them over to the Feds for deportation. And if our states refuse to do this then its time for the people to stand up for this country and do what needs to be done. Last time I checked Citizen arrests were legal. And we sure as h*ll have the ability to get a recall vote going.

The Democrats must have used heavy threats on them!

The stupid people of California are fooled and fooled again by these socialist/communists time and time again.
Lemme see... they got away by taxing the stupid mass with something they call school bond every election cycle and didn't call it tax. Now, they still have short funding for school. Geez!!!
