Thank You....I put all but Clueless into my favorites so I could read them...if you think Clueless is good, please tell me and I will add it. I have had the opportunity to read several journals from over 200 years ago and I am hooked.

Den Beste (USS Clueless) is a brilliant guy with a wide ranging intellect. He's obviously been a ravenous carnivore for information his entire life. He was one of the first "warbloggers," so-called because of their fierce opposition to any who would appease Islamofascism.

But his interests run to the technical. He is a longtime computer programmer who often discusses arcane details from the world of geekdom.

You can visit him for yourself and decide if his style interests you.

As a capitalist, my bottom line's been suffering as a result

You're a capitalist?? Gee there must be another Murrymom posting on this forum. Based on what I've read, you're a marxist pig who advocates sucking as much Uncle Sam teat as possible.

Now that the Stock Market is down, you think calling yourself a capitalist will give you credibility while you criticize.

Communists could give a flip about the stock market.

Lott refused to support the Clinton impeachment hearings in the house and when it came time for the senate to remove him, Lott did nothing.

Lott rubber stamped all of Clinton's 373 Pro-Abortion Judicial nominations to the Federal Bench.

He kept a useless defense contractor in Mississippi just to treat his constituents.

...the Clinton years....when the DJIA was skyrocketing, unemployment fell from 7.3% to 4.2%...

When will we ALL learn that the nations's economy has absolutely nothing to do with who is in the Whitehouse?

The biggest difference between the Dems and the Repukies is that most Dems are constantly trying to better the country as a whole, not worrying whether any particular problem like Lott's racist remarks will help or hurt their candidates' prospects in the next election.

OK, MM...Please expound on exactly how the dems are "constantly trying to better the country".

So you're a "capitalist" are ya? I'll tell ya what you really are...but that'd spoil your fun here, wouldn't it?

my only complaint is that the republicans let the issue lingre as long as they did. had i been advising a senator, i'd have encouraged him to to take a public stand and for a coalition to force the party into action within 2 or 3 days of the issue taking hold.
the article is right on. and the quicker and more forcefully the party confronts this, the better.

Here's some advice for Republicans eager to attract more African-American supporters: don't stop with Trent Lott. Blacks won't take their commitment to expanding the party seriously until they admit that the GOP's wrongheadedness about race goes way beyond Lott and infects their entire party. The sad truth is that many Republican leaders remain in a massive state of denial about the party's four-decade-long addiction to race-baiting. They won't make any headway with blacks by bashing Lott if they persist in giving Ronald Reagan a pass for his racial policies.

The facts of life are that Republicans are not going to get a majority of the Black vote unless they out-Democrat the Democrats -- so why do it?

A majority of Blacks will not support a party that is not in favor of Affirmative Action in its current form of race-based quotas. A large percentage of the Black middle-class works for some level of government -- are they going to be in favor of reducing the size of government?

If the Republican leadership repudiate Reagan (the man responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union), a majority of the Republican base will repudiate the Republican leadership

I think we are going through a great under current of change in this country.

Blacks are voting Republican more and more because they realize that it is not a matter of color but it is a matter of freedom and choice...

Jack White is totally wrong here and under estimates the morality of this country!

Casey Stengel won pennants year after year with the Yankees. When he managed the brand new Mets, the team set a record for futility. Sometimes the manager doesn't have all that much to do with it.

How many championships has Phil Jackson won without Michael Jordan or Shaq on his team?

"Even when a Repukie leader like Lott screws up, they either find a silver lining or blame Dems like Roosevelt and Sen. Byrd for exhibiting similar prejudices."

They were called the DixieCRATS, the GOP's biggest mistake was to allow openly racist Democrats to join our ranks.

The Dems are still as racist, they just have better press these days.

When will we ALL learn that the nations's economy has absolutely nothing to do with who is in the Whitehouse?

According to Rush Limbaugh and George W. Bush, the economy has everything to do with who is in the White House.

Your post effectively calls both of those Repukie Bozos "hypocrites and liars". At least we agree on something!
