Just announced that Frist has begun making calls seeking support to run against Lott.
This has the White House's fingerprints all over it. Before Karl Rove starts pulling these strings, he'd do well to take a dose of modesty and admit Frist had something of a hand in our '02 Senate victory and needs to stay put!

Huh? What's hard to understand? Frist can't chair the NRSC and be Majority Leader at the same time. Rove the "Image Man" thinks Lott's hurting us (overblown and overstated) and wants Frist to be our face in the Senate.

Frist is not as conservative as some, but the trial lawyers hate him, so he can't be all bad. And if you think Lott's little misspeak won't be used in '04 then you forget how dishonest dimowits are.

So.
Frist would be a good choice to lead the Senate..

Frist is stepping down fomr leading the NRSC. Do your homework before you go off half-cocked, please. Frist would be a great choice for ML. He can't be labeled a racist, he's a doctor and he's a good, honest man. That's what we need now.

pinging to follow the thread.
I agree that this has Rove's fingerprints on it. I read on another thread that Lott has more than 20, but less than the 26 necessary votes locked up.

What's hard to understand? Frist can't chair the NRSC and be Majority Leader at the same time. Frist is no longer the chair of the NRSC....

I'll take Frist - I just got off the phone with Sen. Bond and Senator Talent - and said that I hope they concider someone other than Sen. Lott for leader.

I like Bill Frist a great deal. And in spite of what some on FR say, he is pro-life. Some senators are upset because they think the President is trying to nudge them in what to do. They should be happy - he's the only one with any political sense at all. The senators want to protect their turf and lose the agenda and the 2004 election. Hope they wake up before it's too late.

The media bitches and moans that the white house should be involved. The media bitches and moans that the white house is involved. A pox on them all.
To: winin2000
Frist is not my first choice, but anyone is better than Trent Lott.

To: Wait4Truth
I am totally against this run-around that has been done on Lott this month, but if things don't go his way and he does step down, I would like Frist to take over.
