Fortress is a good thing. In fact, let's seal and militarize the borders. Sounds good.

In the year after the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, 66 million fewer visitors tried to enter the United States, according to Immigration and Naturalization Service figures. And those who did try were sent back home at a higher rate than the year before.Good news...

I live in upstate NY. Everyone speaks English and are for the most part polite (folks hold doors for females, etc.)
Right now, I'm working as a consultant in CA. These people are freaks. Latino chicks shave their eyebrows, have a dozen piecings in each eyebrow and dozens in their ears. The dopey guys have more acne and scruffy beards than one can imagine. They harvest zits from ingrown hairs. I'd bet that only 25% of the Califonia population speaks English. No one could pay me to live here. This country is doomed if this is the future of this country. PATHETIC.

The data are totally screwed-up. The numbers don't compute in the first place, and in the second, the number of entrants does not differentiate between tourists and legitimate workers (who cross the border in the thousands every day). The fact that only 1 of every 700,807 is turned back should not scare the tourist industry (or terrorists for that matter).

"There is an impression being made that we are creating a Fortress America," said Rick Webster That's a thought. We'll just sit in here forever with our fresh air, fresh water, and fresh ammo.

Fortress is good, in fact, very good. And all the inlooking nations would be wise to do likewise, kick all islamic murderers out and defend their own lands from such wannabe invadors of evil.

It seems to me that they've "fortressed" the airways, but left the borders wide open. Kind like an airborne "Maginot line".
