I still can't get over this fiscal fiasco and especially this most absurd possible appointment!!!

This is going to be "Attack of the Killer Budgets" for the next four long years!!!

Absolutely NOTHING will be done to curtail non-essential "services!"

Counties, Cities and Special Districts will be stripped of their revenue streams by the pissant, Peace!

Business will be sapped of all profit margins to throw more good money after bad!

It will become "The Attack of Rogue Revenuers!"

As the ship of state heads helplessly toward the rocky shoals under the full sail of spending in a typhoon of new taxes and fees, Davis and Peace will be leaning against the tiller, trying to turn the corner to no avail!

Conservative Californians and Business Owners need to line the streets surrounding the Crapitol, yelling "NO WASTE CUTS... NO PEACE!"

Sure makes one wonder what business owners were thinking by contributing to the Davis re-election campaign. Yet Conservative candidates will just sit on their hands and not persue these contributors prior to the next election... sickening!!!

I have been telling people that Davis only has four years to Bankrupt the state...it will be tight, but I think he can do it ;o)

Things I see coming include massive regulations regarding dirt in the water (AKA mud) under non-point source pollution regs of the Clean Water Act. Regulating mud should generate lots of permit fees. Given that the timber industry has been all but destroyed in this state, the DFG & RWQCB and the rest of the nazis in Queen Nichols Resources Agency need to expand their prey base. I see transportation spending (ie road & highway projects) was the first to be cut. So the focus will shift to the construction and developement industries. Remaining mom & pop manufacturing will be squeezed out (oops, I mean, consolidated) and local government will be shoved head-first into regional government because they have no other alternative. Think ERAF, phase two.

The Peter Shragg article you linked to is not out of the question for these people...they are hell bent on "tearing it down man".

You're right about the local revenue cuts. That's exactly what the RATS did here in NC. They spent us into a defecit. Then they passed a law allowing local sales taxes, which went into effect immediately, of course.

While I was taking a shower this morning, I started trying to come up with ways to get California out of its budget crisis. (I do a lot of creative thinking there...)

The deficit is about $1000 per resident, but nobody wants new taxes or to cut government "services."

So, how about this? Gray Davis runs an "illegal immigrant Blue Light Special". For the next 15 million illegal immigrants only, you may enter California for the low, low price of only $2000 apiece?
