Regarding snow in Austin, let's say I'm not breaking out the snow chains or anything. ;-) Likewise here in Dallas. When they start predicting snow in North Texas, I claim to be from Missouri (I'll believe it when I see it).
That being said....it sure would be nice though.

No, this is the second year he won't be here for Christmas.

Oh how beautiful, DaisyScarlett! I have to apologise, after inviting everyone over for milk and cookies I got caught up in a shopping trip and never made it back to FR. I'm going to have to get my "exits" down better :) BTW, I just received my copy of The Clinton Legacy Cookbook in the mail yesterday. It's just great - full of personality and some good cooking! I just love FReepers :)
Good afternoon from the Pacific Northwest!

The beauty of being retired is every day can be weekend/Christmas Day/New Year's Day.That is awesome. I wish I could retire now and then when I turn 65 go back to work ; )
Enjoy your eternity away from work.

That tea set reminded me of the mini's I saw out at Wal-Mart the other day. They had Peter Rabbit on them.
I found this one for Mama Bear only HERE $6.95

Hi everyone! Just got in from an early Christmas celebration with my family. We had ham, potato salad, dressing, corn pudding, sweet potato casserole etc.....
I'm stuffed! It's good to be back home and I'm looking so forward to the Christmas Music thread tomorrow. Hope everyone won't be too busy getting ready for Christmas and will get the chance to enjoy the Christmas music.

Hi LadyX. Thanks for the ping. How are you feeling lately? I've been thinking about you. I hope you are well.

Just coming back to the thread and find you two here!
Hooray!
Aqua, I love corn pudding in particular - might have to make some soon..:))
Hope your mother is feeling well and strong now.
A special Merry Christmas to you and yours, Spooky.
Despite the fact you are not in Texas, 'home' is where your loved ones are, and you are blessed.
Hello to Everyone Else Here!!

Corn pudding does sound good. Does anyone have a recipe? We are having ham on Christmas day and that would be something different to go with it.
To: SpookBrat
I've never made corn pudding before but it was good with the ham and side dishes.
Lady do you have a recipe handy...I looked in my Pillsbury cookbook for one and I believe this is the first time that they didn't have the recipe I was looking for.
To: Aquamarine
I can always try "google". I've missed you the past couple of days. I haven't had a spare moment for internet visits.
To: SpookBrat; LadyX
I haven't been around much myself, have been lost in the Christmas rush. I'll be here tomorrow though...hope you get some spare time to spend here and post some music. :))
Lady I forgot to ping you to the post above.

DOD IDENTIFIES ARMY SOLDIER KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN
The Department of Defense identified today the Army soldier killed in action in Afghanistan yesterday, Dec. 20, 2002. Sgt. Steven Checo, 22, of New York City, a member of the 504th Infantry, Fort Bragg, N.C., was killed when his unit came under attack from hostile forces.
"Sergeant Checo's death is a reminder to us of the sacrifices being made everyday by the dedicated men and women of our armed forces," said Assistant Secretary of Defense Victoria Clarke. "His death, as well as his dedicated service, strengthens our resolve in pursuit of terrorists, terrorist networks and those who harbor and support them," she said.

Mixer, I've been *so busy* this weekend but I have found time -- if you still count this as the weekend -- to post your 5th and 4th of your top ten holiday dogs on the weekend thread. Forgive the lateness.
