MOSCOW, 24 déc (AFP) - Two Tchétchènes carrying of the belts of explosives were stopped Tuesday in a district of the south-west of Moscow near a very attended market hall, according to Russian police sources, quoted by the agencies. Agents of the services of safety (FSB) withdrew with the two old men of 22 and 25 years their "belts of martyrs" to which grenades and TNT were attached, according to the police force, quoted by Itar-Tass.

A police source quoted by Interfax had stated before that one of the belts at least also contained "steel balls".

The identities of the two men were not immediately revealed.

Questioned by the AFP, the police force of Moscow and the FSB refused with any comment.

The two men were stopped in a street of the district of Tcheremouchki, not far from a market hall, according to Itar-Tass.

The 19 women of the commando tchetchene of 41 freedom fighters who had taken as hostages 800 people at the end of October in Moscow carried belts of explosives which they were to make jump in the event of attack of the Russian forces.

The operation of release carried out by special forces made 129 died among the hostages, the near total of the victims having died because of stun gas used at the time of the attack.

The head of the radical fraction of the freedom fighters, Chamil Bassaïev, had asserted the taking of hostage and had invited all the "shahid" (martyrs) to join his battalion to continue the attacks against the Russians, promising that the war would continue "not only on the territory tchetchene, but on all the territory of Russia".

The commando, whose 41 members were killed, claimed the withdrawal of the Russian troops entered in Tchétchénie on October 1, 1999 to put an end to the independence capacity.

Chechen bastards are at it again. Can someone refresh my memory, please: when was the last time Christians, wearing explosive belts containing ball bearings, walked into a crowd of Muslims?

Was just looking thru russian-language news sites,
they are reporting now that they had a number of ÐÃÄ-5 (PGD-5) hand granades straped to their bodies (Two males, age 22 and 25).
Apperently they've been under survailance for a number of weeks, and has been arrested (at the final stage) as they've been putting stuff on...

They should have been taken to a vacant lot and exploded just as if they were inanimate bombs.

the two old men of 22 and 25 years

See, what good does it do to try to profile these terrorists? You think it's gonna be some young guys of 22 or so, and they send old 22-year-old guys.
