This story only serves to re-inforce my decision not to fly unless it is an absolute emergency. I am not concerned about terrorists, I am concerned over my reaction to the new "Federal Terrorists" that were previously at best 7/11 employees. I know me and I would be in jail in a country heart beat if one of those federalized rent a cops put a hand on me.

the new security measures "do little toward actual security

No kidding! It was flawed policy on how to deal with hijackers, not flawed passenger screening, that resulted in the 9/11 attacks.

Whenever possible, breasts should be packed in checked luggage rather than carry-on. All good citizens should make every attempt to comply with this regulation.

PS - isn't it ironic that this incident happened at the airport closest to the high school that Patty Murray (Democrat from Washington state) made her famous remarks about her role-model, Osama bin Laden?

If bras can hide things, then make her take off the bra, don't feel her up. This is the most disgusting, upsetting thing I have read about airport screeners. Every woman knows how to take off her bra while her shirt is still on and do it in a discreet manner.

My husband would have been thrown in jail too as he would have punched the airport screener.

Just after the incident, their baby breeched causing Mary Monahan to abandon her desire for a natural birth. He blamed the trauma she experienced at PDX.

He has very legitimate complaints. But he loses some credibility when he throws in stuff like this. There is no connection between the two incidents.

Monahan said, (as a chip was seen to fall from his shoulder), "Nothing's going to stop the inevitable. There's no policy change that's going to save us. There's no election that's going to put a halt to the onslaught of tyranny. It's here already: this country has changed for the worse and will continue to change for the worse. There is now a division between the citizenry and the state. When that state is used as a tool against me, there is no longer any reason why I should owe any allegiance to that state."

Let the airlines offer flights without random profiling, but with profiling for Middle Eastern folks, and see which planes weigh the most on take off. Let the market decide.

Moslem non-citizens should have been expelled within a week of 9/11. Instead, we get one PC snafu after another. Hard to blame that on Bill Clinton.

I have had a part-time job for the past few weeks that takes me to the airport (and through security) 2-3 days out of the week. The screeners have never failed to be polite, thorough, and professional in their conduct. Men are screened by men, women are screened by women. They check my coat, they do a body pat down, and sometimes they ask me to take off my boots.

I've seen people like the couple in this story a half-dozen times. They're tired, in a hurry, and feel harassed so they freak out and start screaming at screeners who are just doing their job.

Given the presence of dozens of passengers, other security guards, and police officers at each check-point I have a hard time believing that anything too unusual went on.

Look for American Airlines and Delta to both declare Chapter 11 in 2003. Air travel in the USA is trashed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: anyone who would dare put his hands on me in public would be gumming his figgy pudding tonight.

I don't give a damn what you think your job is, Mr. Screener Man. Your job is to keep angry Muslims from downing my plane. It is not to cop free feels.

PDX seems to have a unique talent for displaying Nazi stupidity. We had incidents here with the INS and the airport goons even before 9/11. Now I see they continue to perfect their techniques.

I have no sympathy whatsoever with the Federal Government or its goon squad, in trying to "Protect" us at the airports. The 9/11 terrorists were in this country due to INS and State Department incompetence and indifference. Moreover, the American people in general - at least those who voted for Clinton and his multiculturalist, Communist one-worlders - share the responsibility.

Not being one of the preceding, I have no sympathy whatsoever for the Federal government now that it is having "Problems" at the airports now, desperately trying to clear the goats out of the garden after having refused to build a fence around it. I'm not flying as long as the random searches continue. Moreover, since I didn't cause the problem and voted against the cause of the problem, and have been agitating against the cause of the problem since long before 9/11, I'm going to cheer roundly every time another airline goes T.U. - and it's got nothing to do with "hating the airlines"; airline bankruptcies are probably the *only* thing that will make Bush & Co. sit up and take notice. The solution they've implemented is Socialistic and simply offends and punishes everyone for the actions of a few. And again, not having caused the problem and (repeat above disclaimer here) I feel no obligation to propose solutions to get them out of their dilemma. That's "Them", as in, "Them", not me.

That said, a couple of additional comments... I have a number of ex-Arab friends with Middle Eastern names who are professionals with PhDs, have abandoned Islam long ago and don't care if the Middle East gets bombed into radioactive slag, and I don't want any solution implmented which lumps them in with the goatf***ers of the world. And if the airport goon squad wants to avoid letting third-world minimum-wage dirtbags fondle pregnant womens' breasts, I propose the following procedure, when someone is singled out for a search:
1. Have the person go into a room alone, remove all their clothes, and put them in a bag, and issue them a hospital gown.
2. Put the bag through the X-ray machine.
3. Have the person walk through a metal detector in the hospital gown.
4. Return the person and the clothes bag to the room. (Don't bother howling about expense, etc. - I don't care; I WANT the airlines to go out of business until this nonsense stops - see above).

And a Merry Stressmas to all...

Portland, OR. The city that specifically refused to assist the FBI and other Fed authorities with searching for AlQueda sleeper cells!
America, steer clear of Portland. The PDX TSA and PDX PD are citizens of the city of Portland and apparently have bought into their city councils PC crap. They won't hunt terrorists, but they'll thoroughly persecute an innocent married couple.

Jimmy Christ at The Space Theatre.(Brief Article) (theater review) T.H. McCulloh

05/30/2002 Back Stage West

It sounds like a neat outrageous idea: a play about Jesus Christ's "less cool younger brother." The reality is a mistake even one of the older brother's miracles couldn't correct. In a television-oriented mush of bad old jokes played like outtakes from Leave It to Beaver, playwright Nicholas Monahan takes a totally sophomoric view of the Holy Family that from beginning to end is infantile and dull. Why this company chose to do it boggles the imagination.

The younger characters--Jesus, Jimmy, and Jimmy's clunky friend Kevin (Wally Cleaver had one, too)--call one another "dude." Jesus is the local phat cat, a soccer hero who is adored for his parlor tricks like curing lepers and turning water into wine. The only thing he hasn't done is cure Jimmy's clubfoot, leaving the kid paranoid and suffering from an inferiority complex, which is what he deserves. Joseph and Mary fight like the Honeymooners about everything, especially Jesus' father, and finally insist that Jesus set up a double date to get 16-year-old Jimmy into the swing of things.

There are no commercials to relieve the tedium, no other channel to switch to, and under Panos Koronis' diddling direction this all seems to go on forever. He allows his actors to wander willy-nilly while other actors are speaking, and his sense of timing dulls what laughs the script might get, such as Jimmy's one funny joke about the Greek boy who didn't want to go into the world and leave his brother's behind (rim shot, please). Koronis' lack of form also doesn't help Monahan's eventual switch from juvenile humor to a sort of maudlin seriousness near the end.

The performances are generally on a par with the script. Ron Petronicoios' Jimmy is at least legible with an edge of humor, as is Benjamin Dodge's ditzy Kevin, but Mark Hart's Jesus is played sort of like Tom Cruise on Quaaludes, much too "dude" for his own good. Sunny Hawks, whose credits read, "She's one crazy broad," plays Mary that way, and Pete Punito's dull Joseph is much too serious to come anywhere near the rest of the dumbness. Lindley Gibbs and Noelle Barbari are truly sitcom as the sisters Jesus sets up, and Tommy Culavito as their snotty Uncle Tobbit just looks at the audience and mugs.

"Jimmy Christ, "presented by and at the Space Theatre, 665 N. Heliotrope, Hollywood. Fri.-Sun. 8 p.m. May 24-June 23. $15. (323) 414-5400.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. Anybody anticipating problems at the airport can go down to your local best buy and pick yourself a nice portable palm digital sony camcorder. When an airport screener takes you or a family member aside for selected "special attention". Take out the digi cam and start filming and make sure the screeners see what your doing. They won't give anybody in your family any problems I guarantee. You'll be amazed how the second you take out a videocamera, many of lifes problems dissolve right before your very eyes. Videotape can literally shut down any type of problem, anytime, anywhere.

With all the new technology especially digital recording survelliance, wireless cameras etc. coupled with cheaper and cheaper prices anyone trying to get away with anything will easily and cheaply be caught in the act. Criminals, con artists, crooks, liars, thieves, predators, everyday scumbags and anybody trying to get away with anything whatsoever in public will be shutdown with no where to go to be fined heavily, thrown in jail, file for divorce... whatever. And if private citizen wants surveillance installed on private property they can protect their homes, vehicles or bodies 24/7.

" Firearms expert Charlie Cutshaw told WND that the new security measures "do little toward actual security but set the stage for an incipient police state by acclimatizing people to being body searched for no real reason. "

This is what I like to call the crux of the matter.

Monahan's account suggests the sky is the limit for airport screeners in carrying out their jobs of keeping would-be terrorists off flights

And it also suggests that those same screeners have absolutely NO interest in keeping actual terrorists - Arab Muslims - off flights ....only little old ladies from Pasadena, Medal of Honor winners, pregnant (white) mothers, and white people in general (Christians and Jews). Considering that 100% - that's right, 100% - of all air hijackings that have occurred in the past 20+ years have been committed by Arab Muslims, I would say that this policy is not only misguided, but crimminal.
