If there is any doubt as to whether or not Sen. Murray's comments have provided aid and comfort to the enemy, simply go to the Taliban Online website. Sen. Murray's pro-Bin Laden comments have been quoted extensively on the Taliban website to bolster their hateful position in the war against the USA.

Patty Murray - empty-headed fellow traveller in tennis shoes...
To: Patriot62
Lott puts his foot in his mouth after a few adult beverages and whole forests disappear.
Sen.Byrd (KKK-WV) potrays a Confederate General and Sen. Murray (Al-Queda-WA) potrays OBL as the public works king of the moslem world.
Where is the outrage?
To: Patriot62
I listened to Patty's comments and they struck me less as being blanantly anti-American and more a product of a typical leftist upbringing. Why do people rally around foreigners that America doesn't like? Why its because they are all goodness and light and helping their people. She just naturally thought that bin Laden was this sort of person.
To paraphrase Ann Richards "Poor Patty Murray, she was born with a left foot in her mouth"

(The rest of the story trie's to put down Osama with the same old rubbish and a thought, is this why the Kuffar in Afghanistan are trying to set bases of the so called reconstruction phase, thinking if they look like helping the Afghan's that they might start to like them or something? Wake up Sheeple, this is not good. I Thought that "if you are not with us, you are against is". What should we do how do we get her to step a side and make way for someone that has the USA best at heart and not those that want our destruction.

I've been watching my local paper (The Bellingham Herald- WA) since the first article was printed about Patty and her idioctic comments. It was on the front page, but of the second part, and below the fold... So far, there hasn't been a SINGLE letter to the editor about it... Maybe everyone else here is in my spot- independant business owner who needs an income...

Democrat senator praises bin Laden Posted on Monday, December 23 @ 14:36:54 ICT By Pak Taliban |
December 20, 2002, By Art Moore
SEATTLE Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., told a group of high-school students in her state that the U.S. should adopt Osama bin Laden's nation-building tactics.
"We've got to ask, why is this man so popular around the world?" said Murray, according to the Vancouver Columbian newspaper. "Why are people so supportive of him in many countries that are riddled with poverty?"
The second-term senator, who faces re-election in 2004, was responding to questions from world history students and student government leaders at Columbia River High School in Vancouver, Wash., on Wednesday.
Murray said, according to the Vancouver paper, that bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."
"How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?" Murray asked.
Murray, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the 107th Congress, voted against an October Senate resolution passed by a 77-23 margin that gives President Bush authority to use military force against Saddam Hussein's regime.
Murray concluded the session with students by challenging them to consider alternatives to war, the Columbian reported. She said that while building up Third World nations is costly, war is expensive too.
"Your generation ought to be thinking about whether we should be better neighbors out in other countries so that they have a different vision of us," said Murray. "It is a debate I think we ought to have."
(The rest of the story trie's to put down Osama with the same old rubbish and a thought, is this why the Kuffar in Afghanistan are trying to set bases of the so called reconstruction phase, thinking if they look like helping the Afghan's that they might start to like them or something? No doubt the Russians did the same thing. What would please us is when you pack and go. (in sha Allah )

More likely the editors don't want to see any backlash that would serve to keep the story alive.
"Fair and balanced" isn't a concept much honored in the print media.

I live in Seattle, so I am (all to) well aware of her antics. I have to believe that these comments are borne of ignorance rather than true support for Osama bin Laden. (Granted, she is with out doubt part of the blame America first cotillion). The fact that she is factually incorrect in her claims is at least as worrisome as the overall tenor of her comments.

I consider P. Murray a joke and an airhead but in the interest of fairness, this article was apparently published in a bbs type forum on the Taliban online website and not as news. Could have been and probably was posted by someone anti-Murray more than pro Taliban. I don't like it when they do it to us and we must be better than that.

It funny how Lott uttered the wrong words to offend the wrong people..but another can utter words in support of the very enemy we are at war with..
President Bush said that if you werent for us then you were against us...that pretty well puts Murray in the latter category...she should be brougth up on treason charges imo...
Charge RINOS charge..

The most telling part of this story, to me, is the silence of the major media!!
Daschole and Pee Wee Clinton and Albore Gore say the media has turned conservative.
Yeah, right, fellows. Help like that we can do without.

I live in Seattle,I live in Kalifornia and have two Senators that are a constant source of embarrassment. Having made that connection, I have come to the conclusion that, IMHO, the time is swiftly becoming ripe to for a serious discussion to consider the repeal of Nineteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (women's suffrage).

Yes the flagrant hypocrisy and nauseating dishonesty of the Democrats and their vassals in the "media" are beyond belief.
As for the traitor and enemy of America Murry, have you ever seen her photo?
She looks like a combination of a lesbian gym teacher and a de-intitutionalized psychiatric patient. Oops, I just defined a typical democrat from Washington State! Or was it a "female" Democratic Underground poster?

I've been watching this story and have been disgusted that THIS Senator's stupid comments have not been reported by the major media outlets.
I had an idea - cnn, cbs, and all the media websites have a spot from where you can 'search' for a newstory on thier site using key word(s). Also, yahoo! keeps track of the top search requests (they call it the "Buzz Index") and is a measure of "what's hot" or "what's on people's minds".
I have been doing searches on all these sites, because I'm sure that someone is tracking/reviewing this type of information.
The goal is for these decision-makers to see that there is a serious public desire to follow this story.

Maybe everyone else here is in my spot- independant business owner who needs an income... It could be that the newspaper you reference has a letter to the editor filter person to make sure the wrong points of view don't get published in the letters section. The leftist Detroit News has such a person who does the filtering, and has actually written articles about how he determines what letters get printed. We don't want to offend people don't you know--unless they're conservative, white, above poverty level income, and their point of view doesn't coincide with the News' committment to avoid the obvious in reporting.

Beware of senators that support men who wear dresses and point guns!
Ask Daniel Pearl about building bridges with the enemy. We could send this stupid senator on a fact-finding mission.

Mrs. Murray terrorizes captive public high school students who have no choice other than to sit politely and listen to her shreiking lunacy while over 14,000 unidentified remains of our innocent massacred citizens, Moms and Dads, sons and daughters, wifes and husbands, killed by bin Laden and his murdering terrorist scum still wait to be identified.
Mrs. Murray should have the courage to say these words to the brave spirits of our slain countrymen at Ground Zero, at the Pentagon and where Flight 93 met it's heroic end. I hope their beautiful spirits will haunt her for the rest of her life for saying such despicable words.
We need to speak for them against her.

Reading through the thread, there is a lot of outrage there, as well there should be. At the same time, we should take note that Mrs. Murray is factually incorrect.
She claimed that the United States does not try to improve the lives of the poverty stricken third world. Has she never heard of the Peace Corps, billions in foreign aid, micro-loans to start small businesses, etc? We have built infrastructure and fed millions.
It is important to remember that Afghanistan was facing starvation under the Taliban. The northern bridges out of the country was blocked, food convoys could not enter. Please recall that food aid organizations were leaving Afghanistan as their people were being arrested for trying to convert Muslins to Christianity. (Yes, under the Taliban this was a crime!!!) Hundreds of thousands were at risk of starvation last winter. The only reason those people survived was the American attack that allowed the food trucks to return. Yes, a thousand innocents may have died in the regime change, but hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions lived.
What this means is that Mrs. Murray is wrong. The United States has fed more people and saved more third world lives than Bin Laden and his friends ever could.
To: Patriot62
Obviously this is a ploy by Murray to get muslims to move into her district and further strenghten her voting base.
To: Klein-Bottle
OF course she is wrong! She is full of Shi-ite!
To: Patriot62; Tom Jefferson
Definitely a case of aid and comfort to the enemy.
She should be lambasted and run out of office.
Her comments are an insult to the 1000s who died on 9/11.

Tiger,
You have hit upon a great idea (no pun intended) for increasing the buzz around a story. You are correct that these sites/search engines track what subjects are searched.
Like freeping a poll, we freepers could freep the buzz index simply by going to the major search engines and establishment news sites and searching, searching, searching.
To: MeeknMing
LOL! This cartoonist is going to be in deep doo-doo.
Hear about the one who drew a cartoon with the caption "What would Mohammad drive?" (Answer: a truck bomb)
That guy got called up by the Can't-Say-Boo-About-Arabs-League.
To: Friend of thunder
Yes, the fact that Murray's statements were factually incorrect, on top of being stupid, is quite worrisome.
What I don't get is I have seen her on tv shilling for the aircraft industry (specifically Boeing), even though Boeing is a big part of the supposedly loathed military-industrial complex.
To: Klein-Bottle
Well said, KB. Thank you.
Wish this message would get out to pinheads such as Murray.
To: fightinJAG
Yeah I saw that cartoon. There was an article posted on that here on FR. I thought it was great !
Allow me to repost a comment regarding Islamists and terrorism....
The war on terrorism means a war on Radical Islam but that should be of no concern to peaceful muslims and they should fully support such action. After all, we hear that Radical Islam is not true Islam but a false perversion of this peaceful religion. If that is true, then there should be no arguments about halting those who use terror and force to enslave people to a false religion.

We should drop leaflets in Taliban/OBl areas stating that in a major change of leadership that Sen Murray is now Pres Murray and that she wishes to give all terrorists the Humanitarian Achievement Award.
That they should come out of their holes to receive the rewards she believes they have all earned.
The leaflet can go on to state that thanks to the Patty Murray Statement, aka PMS, the USA has seen that 3,000 innocent lives, a changed NYC skyline and a damaged economy are but a small price to pay to see the errors of our ways.
And the NOW org will finaly admit that women should not be taking up space in schools and competing with men in business and are better off being permanently confined to subjugated status.
