Queen orders Prince Charles to stop hunting

A fox hunt in England. Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly ordered Prince Charles to give up hunting

Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly ordered her son and heir to the throne Prince Charles to give up hunting, which is opposed by a majority of British people and members of parliament.

"The Queen believes that continuing to hunt when the majority of MPs and the nation at large abhor it, is a step too far," the Daily Mirror Friday quoted a a senior courtier as saying.

"It would be out of the question, of course, for Charles to continue hunting if a total ban is introduced," the source went on.

"But the Queen believes that even if there is only a partial ban, Charles would court disaster for his future reputation if he over-rode the will of the people."

Charles, his sons William and Harry and his companion Camilla Parker Bowles regularly go hunting near Highgrove, the prince's residence west of London.

Under a new bill put before the House of Commons on December 3, a permit may become necessary to practise hunting in England and Wales.

I wonder if he agrees with the queen? I mean, I'm sure that the majority of MPs and the nation at large abhorred that extra-marital affair he had awhile ago, and might have also felt that it was step too far in the way of hurting the Royal Reputation. If memory serves me correct, ..that wasn't enough to stop him then.

What Prince Charles does, ain't hunting. This ban looks like it only affects upper crest gentlemen fox "hunters".

Hmmmm..... in our family the rule is "if you aren't going to eat it, then don't kill it". Hunting should never be for the sheer pleasure of killing. Hunting is food gathering. I know someone is going to say, "but since you can buy food in the grocery store, then why hunt?".... my husband tells his sons that food may be available in the stores, but men should never forget how to hunt it on their own.

Perhaps the pampered princes should be told they can fox hunt if they are willing to eat the fox afterwards.
