SOON - almost certainly by the end of January - it will be entirely clear where we are going in Iraq. To assess what lies immediately ahead, it helps to think clearly about where we have come from, and where we are now. We have come from a position of nearly absolute failure. Over the course of a deleterious decade, the structure of containment erected by the United States and the United Nations at the end of the 1991 war on Iraq had collapsed, utterly.

I just loved his line --- "The will of one man, George W. Bush, changed all this."

One man, One vote, One act --- can make a difference. For good or evil...

Not yet. It's all pretty much still talk and a lotta hype over a few actions. But if Saudi Arabia has decided to cave on our using their territory, the talk looks a lot closer to being realized than it did yesterday.

LOL Let's see how it goes. First it was 'we have to inspect and Saddam kicked inspectors out' - so let's bomb Iraq. Then Saddam said OK. Now it's 'inspections won't work' - so let's bomb Iraq. Too much talk. My hunch is we are not going into Iraq. President Bush does not intend to prove that the Canadian woman was right.

Greeks, d'oh!

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

I think it more that an even money bet - that Iraq will be on the receiving end of George Bush's "promised response" from America if he doesn't "DO AS TOLD"...

Iraq will NOT be the last one to receive such a "gift" - others are in line..

As it turns out -- the "Canadian woman" turned out to be the moron.... A fired moron... Refuted by many Americans and Canadians alike...

Once Bush takes his next step -- He will still be President, a winner, a defender of Western Civilization -- but the stupid and arrogant bitch in Canada will still be a fired ugly moron...

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

End Game will be "a new kind of Warfare" and Iraq will be the final proving ground.

At any rate, you don't want him to.

The American people, indeed the people of the world dudged the bullet in the Florida recount fiasco. Can you imagine if al gore had won? Saddam would be the emperor of the middle east, if not the World. His power backed by OIL and WMD.

If memory serves I recall a published story a couple of months ago that suggested Sadam already has a deal cut with Qadafy to go to Lybia for $1 to $2 billion if he is run out of Iraq.

I think the chances are increasingly likely that Saddam will take the time-honored way out for pusillanimous dictators...keep Jihad 1 warmed up on the runway...

While some have compared him to Hitler going down in a blaze of glory, I think a better comparison is Idi Amin
fleeing Uganda or even King Farouk, of pre-Nasser Egypt, sailing his royal yacht away to a life of luxury on the French Riviera.

Lybia? No one wants to live in Lybia, not even the Lybians.

I say he should hold out for southern France. That's what I'd do.

(I mean if I was a tyrant and a murderer and all that)

The weapons inspectors are back in iraq... they were there before.

saddam has apologized to the Kuwaitis... talk's cheap.

saddam is running scared, and *&%^#$ in his pants... bullies are seldom cowards, comforting as it may be to believe so.

The NOOSE is on saddams neck, and GWB has only to pull the lever... which he hasn't done.

Not yet.

They were there before... Why are they back after they were kicked out by saddam before? bullies are seldom cowards... I think you got that backwards. Saddam did not put the noose on his neck, it's not his style. The fact is saddam has been giving the finger to the USA, and the UN before GWB put the noose on his crooked neck. And GWB is patient, and I believe him. He is giving saddam more rope, so when he pulls the lever, it will be a long drop that will snap his crooked neck pronto!
